Hello, my friends at Hive and this movie-loving community. Today I’m here to talk about a miniseries I watched recently titled: How Do You Translate This Love? I thought it was good because it tells a captivating story. It’s a South Korean TV series that helps us understand love as a unique form of art, while also suggesting that language isn’t just a minor obstacle when love is genuine and sincere. This miniseries has 12 episodes and is full of comedy and romance. I hope you enjoy it.

Hola, mis amigos de Hive y esta comunidad amante del cine. En esta oportunidad vengo a hablar sobre una miniserie que vi hace poco titulada: ¿Cómo se traduce este amor? Y que, a mi parecer, me pareció buena, ya que muestra una historia cautivadora. Es una serie de televisión surcoreana que nos lleva a entender el amor como un mecanismo de arte diferente, además dando a entender que el idioma no es solo un pequeño obstáculo cuando el amor es bueno y sincero. Esta miniserie dura 12 capítulos y está llena de comedia y amor. Espero les guste.

A miniseries with just 12 episodes brimming with energy and love, which leads us to realize that love can cross borders and convey what it truly symbolizes; that’s why this miniseries manages to capture that essence. In this miniseries, we see how languages play a fundamental role in human communication, and it shows us just how important it can be to understand what others are expressing, even if it’s just a short message.

The miniseries centers on the relationship between the protagonist, Cha Mu-hee—who becomes an international film actress—and her personal interpreter, Ju Ho-jin, who lands the job thanks to his potential in this field, unaware that they had actually met some time ago. So this relationship is based on that kind of romance you find in novels; as their story unfolds, many things happen that make our hearts flutter with love and also provide some comedic moments. One of the things I love about this kind of miniseries is that they’re short, clear, and to the point—plus, they make me believe that love is everything in life and that we can find it anywhere in the world.

Cha Mu-hee stars in a film that catapults her to stardom—a film that delves deep into her psyche and plunges her into an abyss of her past. And hidden within that very film that makes her famous lies a monster that prevents her from being herself, yet also helps her come to terms with and confront all those visions of her past, always looking for the silver lining and with the support of her translator, since he is the only person who knows her past exactly. This love shows us that together we are stronger, and that by sharing our sorrows with someone who loves us, the burden is lighter. That’s why Cha Mu-hee seeks refuge in her translator, but little by little she falls in love with him, and he reciprocates her feelings in a very sweet way. Honestly, this series was lovely, and I loved the energy and chemistry between them—plus, their connection was unique; that’s why it made it to my list of favorite South Korean series.

Una miniserie que solo tiene 12 capítulos superllenos de energía y de amor, lo cual nos lleva a experimentar que el amor puede cruzar fronteras y traducir lo que en sí simboliza; es por eso que esta miniserie logra captar toda esa esencia. En esta miniserie vemos cómo los idiomas comparten un eje fundamental en la comunicación de las personas, y nos brinda qué tan importante puede ser entender lo que el otro expresa, así sea un mensaje corto.

La miniserie se basa en la relación que lleva la protagonista Cha Mu-hee quien se convierte en una actriz de película internacional, junto a su intérprete personal Ju Ho-jin quien recibe este empleo gracias a su potencial en esta área, sin saber que ya ellos en un tiempo atrás se habían conocido. Así que esta relación se basa en ese amor de novelas; en su recorrido ocurren muchas cosas que nos hacen vibrar de amor y también de algo en comedia. Una de las cosas que amo de este tipo de miniserie es que son cortas, claras y precisas, además de que me hacen creer que el amor es todo en la vida y lo podemos encontrar en cualquier lugar del mundo.

Cha Mu-hee interpreta una película que la lanza al estrellato, la cual domina su parte psicológica y la hunde en un abismo en contra de su pasado, y que, gracias a esa película que la vuelve famosa, se esconde un monstruo que no la deja ser, que a su vez la ayuda a dominar y enfrentar todas esas visiones de su pasado, siempre buscando el lado positivo y en compañía de su traductor, ya que es la única persona que conoce su pasado con exactitud. Este amor nos da a entender que juntos somos más, y que apoyando nuestras tristezas en alguien que nos ame, la carga es menor. Es por eso que Cha Mu-hee busca refugio en su traductor, pero poco a poco se enamora de esta persona, quien le corresponde de una manera muy linda. Sinceramente, esta serie fue linda y me gustó la energía y contacto que tuvieron ambos, además de que la conexión fue única; por eso fue popular en mi top de series surcoreanas.

As for the series’ length, I think it’s great—it’s perfect for watching one episode a day or binge-watching several episodes in a single day if you have some free time and want to get through it quickly. But honestly, each episode is a little over an hour, though it doesn’t go past an hour and a quarter, so it’s perfect for watching over a weekend. As for the cinematography, it’s fantastic—the entire set is incredible and features beautiful landscapes, as well as the Northern Lights, which are a feast for the eyes. This series invites us to look at life from a different angle, to see that love conquers all, and that we can find joy while working with love.

The main characters are great; I loved the dedication each lead actor brought to their role. I also love the energy and intensity of the love between them—it really captures how there were almost no obstacles to their love, but those small moments turned into something more right away. One of the things that drives me crazy about these Korean series is how long it takes for them to express their love; they’re a bit slow to realize and express it. Plus, it gets tedious having to wait through so many episodes for the love to develop and be expressed; it’s also tedious when there’s too much talking, which I’ve experienced in other series, but this one is different—just like the others I’ve watched this holiday season.

In the end, the two are together and enjoy their love in various languages; everything falls into place, and they enjoy life, helping each other overcome the fears Cha Mu-hee faces regarding her past, since their love will help her understand the demons in her mind. And even though it may seem difficult to fully understand the series at first, in the end everything becomes as clear as day. The series, How Do You Translate This Love?, is great to watch with family, as a couple, or on your own, because it’s ideal for viewers 13 and older; plus, there are no inappropriate scenes, and that’s what I like about this type of series. Believe it or not, I always enjoy them because of their length and the precision of the love stories.

En cuanto a la duración de la serie, me parece que es genial, es ideal para ver una cada día o tomar varios capítulos en un día si tienes momentos libres y quieres ver rápido, pero sinceramente, cada capítulo supera la hora, pero no excede la hora y cuarto, así que es ideal para verla en un fin de semana. En cuanto a la puesta en escena, es genial, ya que todo el set es increíble y se tornan hermosos paisajes, además de auroras boreales, las cuales son algo armónico para la vista. Esta serie nos invita a mirar la vida desde otro ángulo, a ver que el amor todo lo puede y podemos disfrutar mientras se trabaja con amor.

Los protagonistas son geniales, me ha gustado la supuesta entrega en cada papel protagónico; además, me gusta la energía e intensidad con que se da el amor entre ellos, atrapando que no hubo casi obstáculos para su amor, pero aquellos pequeños momentos se tornaron de inmediato. Una de las cosas que pienso que me desespera de estas series coreanas es el momento de expresar su amor; es algo tardío para darse cuenta y expresar. Además, se vuelve tedioso poder aguantar muchos capítulos para que el amor fluya y sea expresado; también es tedioso cuando se habla mucho, ya que lo he pasado en otras series, pero sin embargo esta es diferente, al igual que las demás que he visto en esta temporada vacacional.

Finalmente, ambos quedan juntos y disfrutan de su amor en varios idiomas; todo vuelve a su lugar y ellos disfrutan la vida, ayudándose mutuamente a superar los miedos a que se enfrenta Cha Mu-hee con su pasado, ya que parte de su amor ayudará a entender los demonios que habitan en su cabeza, y aunque parezca complicado entender en gran parte la serie, al final todo queda tan claro como el agua. La serie, ¿cómo se traduce este amor?, es genial para ver entre familiares, en pareja o en solitario, porque es ideal para mayores de 13 años; también que no aparecen escenas fuera de lugar, y eso es lo que me gusta de este tipo de serie, y aunque parezca mentira, siempre disfruto de ellas por la duración y lo preciso en las historias de amor.
