Scam Warning: Raymondspeaks and BRO

Hello all, it's been quite a while since I've had to write a post like this, but I'm going to do it.

I would advise against doing business with these accounts.

I have seized the @raymondspeaks account and control it.

Background:

About two months ago I loaned 1 eth to Raymond, unfortunately I didn't post our deal on the chain, so you'll have to take my word on it I guess, honestly this is why I used to post all my deals, I can include my ETH address so you can check that and see 0x082cA3356B718aE7174916486115Bd1521e393D3 anyways

It was a loan of 1 eth, repay 1.1 eth with monthly installments of 0.11 eth.

For collateral I took his @raymondspeaks account with it's Hive, and Splinterlands assets (cards and land).

To his credit he made the first payment with little trouble, for the second payment, he shorted me and paid only about half the payment

Why I believe he probably isn't going to pay.

He has me blocked on Discord. This is the biggest Red Flag for me. Our main form of communication is via Discord, it's where the loan was negotiated. By blocking me on Discord, this is a very strong signal of his unwillingness to complete the loan.
He has rugged the BRO community. By rugging the Bro community, this is another very strong red flag that he isn't willing to meet his commitments.
He using the @brofund account to go on crazy, unhinged rants which demonstrate that honest, he has lost his fucking mind. This is a very strong red flag that he probably isn't going to pay.
He left my Neoxian City discord and he booted me from his Bro discord. This a smaller point, but it is a strong signal of hostility, and it seems like, under these hostile conditions, repayment of loan seems less likely.

If I'm wrong and he does pay, then I will retract this post and issue a correcting post.

Already felt somewhat ... uncomfortable with all his cult-like cryptic nonsense about "The Flame" or "The Harvest" over the past few months. Now I got kicked out of his discord too without any explanation.

That’s really unfortunate to hear. It’s sad when trust in the community gets broken like this. Thanks for sharing your experience it’s a good reminder for everyone to be careful when lending or doing deals online. I hope things get sorted out fairly.

Its really disheartening. Though I'm not a victim, but then, it's saddening cause' my friends lost a lot. Welp, life happens, and it always does.

This is the third disappointing thing in hive in the past 2 weeks. First was the person that faked a medical bill to scam people through loans, second was Vibes, and now this. All these events just make people lose trust for other genuine people. Anyways, it's calm.

I read through Brofund's blog and the major words/phrase he used is "They/I am watching," "Fire," "Sun and Moon," and "I know a lot."

I don't really know Sir Ray, but then, this is not like the normal Sir Ray I know. Who knows? Maybe he's under threat, brainwashed, under extreme psychological stress that made him lose his mind, maybe hacked, or maybe he was playing the nice guy just to get a lot of info from people, including personal data, and use it for only him knows what.

I don't know, just speculating here. Still in denial though.

Please, if possible, it will make sense for someone to check up on him. Anyone that has contact with his family or close friends can reach out to them so that they share whether or not he's okay.

It's incredible that this situation damages confidence in layer two tokens and Hive in general. Let's hope everything gets resolved in the best way possible so we can close this chapter and continue moving forward with consolidating projects within the ecosystem

To say I'm disappointed at Ray is playing with words. Guy blindfolded us by playing the Mr nice guy card. More reasons to be weary of super nice people. Guess his true nature is out now. Good thing you got a tangible collateral sir and was able to dump his token on time. No regrets, just lessons.

Regardless of all that has transpired, I do hope he's ok and not in a deadly state.

I've been reading through different people's experience with Mr Ray and I must say that I'm shocked.

He doesn't seem like that throughout when I knew him and I must say I'm short of words as per what's happening now, either he has loss his mind, not in control of his account or scam like you said.

I've my share of disappointment with his Bro and LGN project, which I had planned out to use for something important this coming month.

I can vouch for this, as the funds were used to pay back part of what he owed me. He borrowed money back in May of 2023. It was only suppose to be for 2 months, and I'm still not paid back what he borrowed.

For the last two years it was one story after another. Recently he got an air drop from Magic Newton that would pay off half of it, and he was going to sell it to do so. He was also expecting a very large payout from them for saying gm in their discord for months. When his air drop unlocked, he didn't want to get rid of it so he took a loan out with you instead.
