After a soldier died in a booby-trapped brazier, I abandoned stealth to eliminate the remaining garrison. I assassinated the captain, cleared out surrounding archers and a heavy brute, and engaged the commander. After setting the commander ablaze with fire arrows, I defeated him, leaving only the treasure to collect.
One of the garrison guards rushed toward the brazier to raise an alarm, but he died instantly in the resulting explosion because I had already rigged the device with a trap.
Fortunately, the commander and captain remained completely unaware of my presence inside the fortress, giving me the freedom to eliminate the surrounding troops without worrying about the primary targets attempting to flee.
With part of my stealth cover blown by the blast, I decided to abandon pure hide-and-seek tactics. I shot down a nearby guard with a well-placed fire arrow.
The commotion drew the captain's attention, as he grew suspicious after likely spotting the archer's corpse I had left on the high wall earlier. Before he could investigate further, I sprinted toward him and executed a swift assassination.
Eliminating the captain proved remarkably easy, a stark contrast to my previous visit to this fortress when I lacked the strength to defeat even a standard soldier.
With the captain dead, my remaining objectives were to eliminate the commander and secure the garrison's treasure.
Spotting a guard standing below, I took a leap of faith from the upper ledge and assassinated him before he could react.
Next, I targeted a patrolling archer who remained completely oblivious to the fate of his comrades. After closing the distance, I took him down quietly.
Moving deeper into the complex, I crossed paths with another archer and eliminated him on the spot. I then struck down a soldier practicing his aim.
Then I tuned my attention toward a heavy brute guarding a doorway, and I took the massive warrior down with a single stealth blow.
With the outer guards cleared, the commander finally began patrolling the area, and stumbled directly upon one of the archer corpses I had left near his position.
Sensing my presence, he turned as I lunged forward for an immediate strike, but he proved far more durable than the captain and repelled the initial attack.
I stepped back, drew my bow, and repeatedly shot him with fire arrows to ignite his armor. Despite his aggressive counterattacks, the flames overwhelmed him, and he collapsed onto the stone floor.
With both leaders dead and the garrison cleared, I turned to claim the treasure to complete the location objective.
I'll show more of my photographic journey of the games soon, so stay tuned to my blog if you liked them.
