In this tutorial, we’re diving into a beautiful Irish jig called "Katie Rambles." This tune has a special place in my repertoire, as it was taught to me by Kiril Solovjov during his visit to Vilnius. It’s a wonderful piece for the Anglo concertina, and we’ll be learning it in the key of E Dorian.
I’ll break down both Part A and Part B phrase-by-phrase, just like I learned it. We’ll look at the button layout on both the right and left sides, focusing on those tricky bellow directions that give the concertina its unique sound.
Whether you’re a beginner or looking to add a new jig to your collection, let's learn this together!
What we cover in this video:
- Phrase-by-phrase breakdown of Part A and Part B
- Button layout and bellow directions
- Full demonstration of the tune at a slow and steady pace
If you’re learning other Irish tunes or struggling with a specific piece, let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear what you’re working on!
Don't forget to stay tuned for the tin whistle version of this tutorial coming soon.
Happy practicing! — Vidas
