Saudi Arabia has confined two senior members of the Saudi regal family - Prince Ahmed container Abdulaziz, the more youthful sibling of King Salman, and Mohammed canister Nayef, the ruler's nephew, two sources with information on the issue said.
Crown Prince Mohammed canister Salman, King Salman's son and the accepted leader of the world's top oil exporter and key U.S. partner, has moved to consolidate power since ousting his cousin, Mohammed receptacle Nayef, as beneficiary to the position of authority in a royal residence upset in 2017. He arrested several royals in an enemy of debasement crusade soon thereafter.
One source said the detentions occurred on Friday. Reuters couldn't quickly decide the reasons behind the detentions.
The Wall Street Journal announced the detentions of the two royals prior on Friday, and said they identified with a supposed overthrow endeavor.
Saudi officials couldn't be quickly gone after remark right off the bat Saturday. The Saudi government media office didn't quickly respond to a Reuters request for input.
Ruler Mohammed has filled resentment among some conspicuous branches of the decision family by fixing his hold on power and some question his capacity to lead following the 2018 homicide of an unmistakable journalist by Saudi agents and the largest-ever assault on Saudi oil infrastructure last year, sources have said.
