Garden update

25.02.2023-8.jpg

After 3 months I find time to turn the compost bin. I thought I was late but it was just in time. The second bind was ready and I put it in the ready 3rd section. The first one was perfect no wet sludgy, no dry areas maybe because it was 1.5 meters tall and mixed proportionally with greens and browns. I'm pleased with the result.

The bottom part turns it into the second bin and mixed perfectly the rest of it. After one hour I finished the turn and will have more ready compost for the end of April when I need it most.

Another thing that goes well is my winter rye cover crop on the beds. I hope it will go wild at the beginning of the spring so I have a lot of straw mulching and awesome fluffy soil.

This is so natural. I like how you cultivated your area. You must be so hardworking.

One of the good way of making manure for enriching soil is compost. I learnt in high school, how compost is made but I haven't practically practice one before. Thanks for the steps you shown here and this has really taught me how compost is done.

Hello friend, it really is a lot of work and time that goes into making compost. The good thing is the result.
