Wednesday Walk

I was looking cars and my favorite appeared

Hello, sending you all a hug.

Today, I’d like to share with you, first and foremost, something I saw the other day. But before that, I need to set the scene. It was a short and very pleasant outing. I arrived in a school zone just as classes were letting out; parents were crowded together, as were street vendors. Everyone was eagerly waiting for the students to come out of school.

Vendors stand ready with their carts, offering students juices, ice cream, popcorn, and the ever-popular mango biche a staple of Colombian culinary tradition. It consists of green (unripe) mango, eaten with salt, lime, and sometimes even pepper.

In Venezuela, many young people also share a fondness for green mango, but in Colombia, it’s practically a rite of passage from birth; I sometimes joke that Colombians might even give their babies bottles filled with mango biche instead of milk. The fascination with eating it is truly wild.

Well, leaving the street vendors' carts behind, let me show you the car that was the real star of the moment: a passion-red Mustang, perfectly contrasted by black racing stripes, a spoiler, and black wheels. A real beauty!

It’s a shame I can’t convey the powerful roar of its engine—which, incidentally, annoyed some people, who labeled it "noise pollution." Sorry! Are they really talking about pollution? Better not to talk to me about pollution, because I could go on at great length.

Anyway, there was this beauty sitting on the street, so without a second thought, I walked up to the driver’s side window the driver was just a young guy and respectfully asked for permission to photograph the Mustang. He smiled and nodded.

So, I did what I could with my phone camera, as there were many students admiring the car. Also, I didn’t want the driver, who remained inside the Mustang the whole time, to feel intruded upon; for that reason, I didn’t take photos from directly in front of the car and avoided shots that would show the license plate. Nevertheless, I was very satisfied with the photos I managed to get, and I hope you are too.

The Mustang is my favorite car in the world, so this was the best thing I could have seen and heard that day. What a look, and what a roar! Well, if you were around, joining me on my Wednesday outing, I truly appreciate it, and I thank you.

A hug!

Bzzz, that red Mustang is one shiny flower this bee would happily buzz around! 🐝🚗❤️ Those black racing stripes look just like a bee's, maybe it's my long-lost cousin? 😄 Very sweet of you to ask the driver first and skip the plate shots. And mango biche with salt and lime? This honey-loving bee is curious... 🥭🍋 Lovely Wednesday walk! 🌼🐝
