There are moments in an artist’s life that stay with you for a long time - not because of the perfection of the lines or the technique, but because of the emotions that accompany their creation.
Ten portret jest właśnie jedną z takich historii. Miałam ogromną przyjemność stworzyć wizerunek Majki - córki mojej przyjaciółki. Już od pierwszych chwil, gdy zaczęłam pracę nad tym rysunkiem, czułam, że to coś więcej niż zwykłe zlecenie czy kolejny szkic do kolekcji. To było wyróżnienie, gest zaufania i piękny dowód na to, że moja pasja może mieć dla kogoś prawdziwe znaczenie.
This portrait is one such story. I had the immense pleasure of creating a portrait of Majka - my friend’s daughter. From the very first moments I began working on this drawing, I felt that it was more than just a simple commission or another sketch for my collection. It was an honor, a gesture of trust, and beautiful proof that my passion can truly matter to someone.
Portret powstał w technice stipplingu, która od zawsze jest mi szczególnie bliska. To metoda wymagająca cierpliwości, skupienia i spokoju - tysiące drobnych kropek, które powoli układają się w światło, cień i emocję. Tym razem jednak doświadczenie było jeszcze głębsze, ponieważ pracowałam na profesjonalnym, bawełnianym papierze do akwareli. Różnica była niezwykła - faktura, chłonność, sposób, w jaki papier współpracował z tuszem, sprawiły, że każdy detal nabierał nowej jakości. To było jak rozmowa z materiałem, który rozumie artystę.
The portrait was created using the stippling technique, which has always been particularly close to my heart. It’s a method that requires patience, focus, and calm - thousands of tiny dots that slowly come together to form light, shadow, and emotion. This time, however, the experience was even deeper, as I was working on professional cotton watercolor paper. The difference was remarkable - the texture, absorbency, and the way the paper interacted with the ink gave every detail a new quality. It was like a conversation with a material that understands the artist.
Format A4 okazał się idealną przestrzenią - wystarczająco dużą, by oddać szczegóły spojrzenia, delikatność rysów i subtelność światła, a jednocześnie na tyle intymną, by zachować osobisty charakter pracy. Najpiękniejszym momentem całego procesu nie był jednak sam akt tworzenia, lecz świadomość, że ten portret wywoła uśmiech. Że stanie się czymś więcej niż obrazem - stanie się emocją, wspomnieniem, czymś, co daje radość.
The A4 format proved to be the ideal space - large enough to capture the details of the gaze, the delicacy of the features, and the subtlety of the light, yet intimate enough to preserve the personal character of the work. The most beautiful moment of the entire process, however, was not the act of creation itself, but the awareness that this portrait would bring a smile. That it would become more than just a picture - it would become an emotion, a memory, something that brings joy.
To właśnie dla takich chwil tworzę. To jest dla mnie najcenniejsza forma wynagrodzenia - wiedzieć, że moja sztuka potrafi poruszyć czyjeś serce. Każdy rysunek to dla mnie opowieść. Ta opowieść była szczególna - pełna wdzięczności, ciepła i cichej dumy.
It is for moments like these that I create. This is the most precious form of reward for me - knowing that my art can touch someone’s heart. Every drawing is a story to me. This story was special - full of gratitude, warmth, and quiet pride.
