I observed something about these insects. I didn't even know their name but I did my research and found out they called blue maize leaf beetle. I'm just realizing that I have not been seeing these insects for the past five years now in Nigeria, nasarawa state, akwanga. During childhood, we see them around a lot and play with them.
We would caught them as they are not hard to caught and set them on race. It's was fun.
But now I haven't seen these particular insects for a very long time. Not for once.
Am beginning to think of they are extinct but I can't say that.
Someone should help me out.
These insect are basically staying at the maize plant tassel and consumes the tiny pollen sacs (anthers).
Nobody is even talking about it. I relate it to my childhood friends before they were like... Yessss... We are not seeing them again. What is happening.
