When I was in school, I had an unmarried, generous teacher in Grade 3. I was always hungry for several reasons—I didn’t like the viand, my grandparents hadn’t cooked yet, or I had to leave for school before they did. My next manga rec is Nippon sangoku. It's a dystopian future where Japan has essentially lost its technology and the governing bodies have split up Japan. It's feudal Japan like. The protagonist is someone who will do whatever it takes to unify Japan in a positive way. Super interesting.
