I Lost the Battle... .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 295

I hate politics, and I hate politicians... I know that I shouldn't use the word "hate" as it's too strong, but I saw almost nothing useful from politicians, and many bad things happened after their greedy actions... On the other hand, I am (or I was) very competitive, and I like to win, but in the battle against politics, I lost... Losing to someone better than you is okay, but when you lose to someone worse, that sucks big time...

This reflection came from the Facebook post, or better said, from one of the comments about the upcoming elections in Serbia, the country where I lived in the past... One commentator said something like this about the current "ruler(s)" in the country:

Because of them, I have migrated to another country and never came back!

As I did the same 14 years ago, that hit me hard... In those moments, I packed my suitcase, took my wife and 5-year-old son with me, and migrated to Spain, leaving behind my company, my house, my family, and my friends... The same goes for my wife, leaving the stable, long-term job at a public music school, friends, and family...

In those moments, the political environment in Serbia has changed... The bad government left, and the worse came to power... Despite being outside any political party, despite trying to keep politics outside of our lives, despite treating everyone equally, we felt a lot of pressure in our everyday lives... Pressure to "pick sides", pressure to do things wrong, pressure to cheat to survive... I have realized I have lost the battle...

I didn't vote for them... It wasn't about accepting others' opinions and accepting the reality... It was about NOT accepting WRONG human values... It was about refusing to lie, to cheat, to treat people differently if they were left or right... I lost the battle... and I had to leave the battlefield... So, I left...

It hurt... Every loss hurts... Again... Not because of them, not because of pride, but because of leaving family and friends behind... It was literally, "everyone saves their own skin"... I couldn't help myself, and I couldn't help others... So, we left...

But, as in some other examples I named in previous posts, it was one of those situations when something bad forces you to make quick (life) decisions, which turns out to be the right one in the long term... Which makes your life better... 14 years later, I can help my family and friends from the outside... Giving hope, a nice word, motivation to continue, a look into a better future...

I lost the battle, but I didn't lose the war... In the end, maybe those fcking politicians did something right... They pushed me into a better future...

Let's see the WorkerBee Pool numbers for this week...

This week, we have mined 148 BEE tokens in total, 4 tokens more than the previous week!

This week we got 1 new delegator! Welcome to the pool, @chaosmagic23! As usual, we got additional delegations from old members! Thanks for your continuous support, guys and girls! I really appreciate it!

This pool doesn't charge fees, and you can earn up to 20% more by delegating to it!

What about the bonus tokens?

This week, I'm giving away some SPS tokens to the delegators of the pool... With the "mini-bull market", the Splinterlands ecosystem got a bit of fresh air to breathe... The price of the SPS token went up a bit, and a lot of enthusiasm is in the air again... Yes, it's a bit choppy, but the game survived much tougher times, and it will go through these too... I'm still playing the game as much as my free time allows me, but I try to not miss any of Guild Brawls...

There will be 210 SPS tokens distributed to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

210 SPS tokens will be distributed as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 13.556%, and when we added the bonus, it went up to 16.244%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens when creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price... Currently, the BUY side of the WORKERBEE tokens is very thin, and it's hard to calculate the middle price.

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section or contact me through Discord or Twitter, and we will find the best solution for both parties...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

If you want to join the WorkerBee PH-Pool, the only thing that you have to do is to STAKE tokens to YOUR account and DELEGATE your staked WORKERBEE tokens to THIS account (@ph1102)! Every week, you will get your portion of mined BEE tokens and BONUS rewards!

.:. DO NOT STAKE TOKENS TO MY ACCOUNT!!! Just DELEGATE! .:.

Good evening, @ph1102. Despite the differences—and there certainly are some—between the reality in Spain and the situation you describe, I feel a strong affinity for what you’re saying... just as I feel an aversion to the pressure to choose sides. In the end, those bad people forced you to seek a better future... and I’m glad you did.

    Sending you a big hug.

Thanks for the update and tokens!

On a side note, I realise NOS has been doing well lately. Hehe!

Politics are horrible. With the way elections are run, only the major parties have a chance, and most of the time, they don't even do what they campaign on. They just spend money or gather power with everything they can do, so I have given up on believing any side of the political parties.

Thanks for running the pool and for the BEE/SPS tokens.

You left this mud in which we have been for half a century. If not for yourself, you have given your son the opportunity to live a more normal life in another, slightly better-ordered society from a young age. What will happen in 20 days? I hope for a change, however, many of them benefited from this government and acquired great wealth, so I think they will defend it with their lives.

You say it's not nice to hate someone. I hate all of them, the politicians, who made a mess of our lives and provided themselves with riches.

You wrote me that at that festival a lot of sculptures represent politicians. I wish they were ours, and not made of wood and paper.

You can’t fight against politics. It’s such an elusive concept that everyone interprets it differently. And then we see things as they are and what people are really like. As a society, we’re becoming increasingly primitive and polarized. At least in this corner of the world. But I’d be surprised if things were any better elsewhere in the world. We’re not yet at the stage where “politics is the art of the possible.” Thanks for the tokens. I just collected some pocket change again and sent it to you 😎

    Wooo SPS thank you!

As for losing the battle against politicians and those in power, unfortunately, we Venezuelans have a lot of experience with that as you in your country of origin. The circumstances have forced us to learn to fight our battles on a more personal level. Is that selfish? I don’t think so; it’s just how things have turned out for us. And that sometimes leads us to find ourselves in a situation that wasn’t what we imagined at the time, but which, without a doubt, turns out for the best when you look back and into the future ;)

    Welcome @chaosmagic23 ! !BBH

  • As long as you have the right to vote, you should use it. Many die to get that right, and I know many in Serbia are still fighting hard against the government. Don't give up, because they haven't

  • When you vote the lesser of the evils then it gives license for politicians to be evil as long as they are perceived as less evil than their opponent. Still, politics is a reality of life when you have at least three people in the room. There are career politicians that specialize in influencing this perception through propaganda. Since propaganda is truth-agnostic, I wonder if there should also be career truth propagandists.
