Life Is A Game Are You A Player, Or An Observer?

I have not written here for a very long time. School and life really pulled me away. For some days now I have tried coming back, making a post but it's been really difficult because I don't know where to start. But today, I have decided to write gibberish at exactly 5 am. This is the time I wake up everyday, sometimes even earlier. It's the time I'm most calm. And it's the only time I get to sit, think and decide without a sound from my neighbours. It's just me, and the sounds from early birds.

This year I really wanted to figure out my life. I'm smiling now because I thought it would be easy. But it’s been a rollercoaster of learning new habits, ideas, skills, and at the end, I’m still confused about which path to really follow. The internet is supposed to help, it does help actually, but very little if you're not specific about what you want. The lesson I learned here is; continuous learning without action is wasted potential. It doesn't change anything if you don't practice the things you learn.

I learned a lot, and I observed a lot too. I came to agree that life is a game. We are introduced to it from the day we were born. And as we grow we get to decide wether to be an active player, or an observer.

Observers don't fail, it's the safest choice. All you have to do is watch others; support them if you can, criticise them if they do something wrong, watch them fail and thank God you aren't the one because you can't imagine yourself in such a pathetic situation. Observers are very content with whatever they have. It’s a comfortable way to exist.

But the players. They go through a lot. They fight both their own demons (procrastination, fear, trauma, family background, pains, all the inevitable negativity you could think of), and the demons from the outside (the forces from the world which we have little to no control over).

Players don't have the luxury of time to overthink, they act. They take risk. They move even when they're uncertain. And that is scary as hell. Players learn to be tough, so that they don't break. They'd rather bend, incur injuries, cry, roll in the mud and still dust themselves up because it's a game, they can't imagine opting out when there's still time to make a difference. They know the game doesn't end unless you want it to. Unless God wants it to.

Being a player is not comfortable because you get to fail, sometimes even more than you win. The worst part is that, just like every game with winners and losers, some players get to lose at the end. Some give up along the way, and some cheat.

Some people were born into already won game. Nepotism. Some had to continue fighting from where their ancestors stopped. Some even get to start from the beginning. It's funny. What makes this interesting, though, is that there's a lot of entertainment in between. The movies we watch, the social activities, music, dramas, etc. So while there's a serious game going on, you also get to chill and be happy.

If you're reading this, I’m curious—are you getting where I’m coming from, or am I just rambling? I mean, am I making sense at all? I'm really sorry you had to read this.😂🙏

Anyway, that’s where I am right now. Life’s a game, and I’m still figuring out how to play. But I’ve actually figured out that life is unpredictable, challenging, and definitely interesting. And that’s something worth embracing, right?

It’s important to view life as a game with a goal in mind and to be mindful of this so we can strategise our moves; just as you say, moving forward by learning to play is also part of life. Have a lovely evening @phyna !LADY !PIZZA

I get what you're saying, but I view life as a journey. We all must move forward through that journey without knowing what's in store-that's God's department. There is a prize at the end of that journey, but we have to be aware of that prize and strive to get to it.

Thank you for sharing; take care and have a lovely day! !LADY
