Worldmappin will carry on Pinmapple's legacy

Introduction

Hello everyone, it´s @martibis again. As mentioned before, this is the end of the road for @pinmapple. But I do have some good news. After the outpour of love and support @detlev will continue the project under a new brand Worldmappin, using the open source code.

First of all, it's worth noting that the @pinmapple account and brand are still closing down, but Worldmappin will take over the torch.

All of your work and your pins will be transferred over to Worldmappin
The map will be available soon at worldmappin.com

Continuing the legacy

One of our first users of the map @detlev approached us and offered to take over the project with a new brand name, to keep the great work of the @pinmapple team and the community alive.

For those who don't know @detlev, he has been a member of Hive (former Steem) since April 2017. The well-known beer guy with the longest-running challenge and a traveler as well. He posted to @pinmapple even before the service was live. Detlev has been running software projects for a long time. He will work together with @lizanomadsoul one of the @pinmapple curators I'm sure you're all familiar with, to continue the mission under the Worldmappin brand. You can already follow the account at @worldmappin. @ybanezkim26 will also join the curation efforts at @worldmappin.

Worth noting that this team, also has the support from @blocktrades and @theycallmedan will stay.

What are the next steps

@pinmapple will be inactive in curating, voting, etc.
The pinning service and https://pinmapple.com will keep running until the @worldmappin team are up and running.
The community on Hive and Discord stay the same, but will be renamed to Worldmappin (when the time arises) @detlev and @lizanomadsoul will be the admins.
A new DHF proposal will be created in June in order to maintain and develop the Worldmappin project.

Thanks @martibis for trusting us and making it possible to go on with the project. It was a pleasure to be part of @pinmapple team for so long and I will miss you guys!

On the other side I am also very glad as a travel blogger and community member myself that the map and all the pins will not get lost, but keep living under this new brand! Thanks @detlev for taking the initiative and gathering this new worldmappin team together!

@detlev and I know each other since Steemfest in Krakow and have been friends and business partners ever since :) - So of course I couldn't resist staying with this project, when he approached me because I am sure it will be great! Of course I will help to stabilize this project during the transition. We will build a new curation team and develop this project.

We are setting up the servers right now and connecting our new internet domain with a slightly changed service.

Shocking to me to just stumble upon the news in this post but I am excited for the new chapter and brand championed by my #beer drinkin buddy @detlev!

I caught on to pinmapple a little late and always felt like I missed the bus. Perhaps this new launch and chapter will enable me and plenty of new people to get involved and reconnect!
