Today it is very hot weather in the Netherlands, and I feel like my body is melting. I was outside in the morning, and when I came back to my room, I looked like fried chicken. So, I decided to stay in my room. Even though I was born in a country where 35 degrees Celsius is nothing, the heat in Europe hits harder. My brown skin becomes red easily and gets burned. I find it very strange, and that's why I always have to cover myself with a decent amount of sunscreen and clothes, but all I can do is reduce the damage. This week we are having hot summer days, and even though I am struggling, I manage to go outside every day and take a stroll in the city, enjoy cold drinks... Because I know soon there will be rainy, depressing weather back.
When there is sunny weather, beach activities are a must in the Netherlands. I am not a fan of the beaches, but I often try to find spots near the canals where shadow meets the sunshine. It's a nice feeling relaxing in the shadow, near a canal, while enjoying reading a book and some snacks with cold drinks. So, a day before yesterday, I decided to go to the nearby beach area in my city.

Camping Waterhout Almere, Netherlands
So, my destination was Camping Waterhout Almere, one of the closest beach areas to my place. So, to go there, I needed to take a bus, which was 17 minutes ride, and then walk for another 35 minutes to reach the desired location. Since I walk very slowly in the heat, instead of 20 minutes walk, I have taken more than 35 minutes to reach. Was it worth it!! Maybe you can tell me in the comments section.
After leaving the bus, I started walking in the residential area. I must admit that those who live in such an area near the canal are truly blessed. Not only can you enjoy the stunning everyday morning view, but you can also park your boat infront of your home and enjoy quiet time with swans and ducks... Another side of the canal was the forest area or park area where pet owners take their dogs for a long walk. Also, I saw many people running there even though it was a hot, sunny morning.

While walking on this street, the first thought that came into my mind was how to disturb this swan's family. You can curse me for my evil thoughts, but somehow I don't know why I like to disturb swans always when I see them on land. I am aware of the consequences of disturbing swans, but I feel like they should be in the water all the time...🤣🤣
I can be evil sometimes or maybe childish...Not only swans, I decided to chase other ducks as well, who were relaxing near the canal area with their families. Of course, my activities are not harmful, I just show them that I am coming near them, and they just go in the water again...😛

I really enjoyed walking along the canal area, but the rest of the walking area was nothing significant. Besides, the scorching heat of the sun was making me melt inside my clothes. So, after 20 minutes of walking, I was feeling like I had been walking for ages. I didn't enjoy the walk until I reached the destination. On my way, I took some photos of wild poppy flowers...

My first stop was Brasserie Tien, a nice cafe near the camping area. They also have lunch and dinner options, but you have to let them know beforehand. For walk-in customers, they offer drinks, some snacks, and cakes. Camping area, residential pods were near this cafe, and due to privacy issues, I didn't take any photos. There were kids who were playing with water and sand, and the camping area was too private to take photos, in my opinion. They also have boating and kayaking options...I am only going to share with you the canalside view...To be honest, it was too hot and bright to take photos, so I was focused on cooling myself down at that moment.

Next, I went to the beach area where people actually can swim, and it was again 20 minutes walk from this spot. Trust me, I was thinking of having a bike at that moment because I was actually very tired. I didn't take photos of the beach area, but took some photos of nearby areas.

Did I enjoy my day? I don't know, to be honest. There was nothing much to do for me at the beach since I was not there for swimming. I just sat there in the sun and was reading a book, that's all...I am not a beach activity lover, so there was nothing much to do. I had taken a taxi at the end to reach my place; I was not ready to walk at all in the hot, sunny weather.
Until next time...
