[Movie] Apocalypto: The God Kukulcan wants Mayan Blood 🫀🫀, Ancestral Review

The primitive era of loincloths is a thing of the past; now we wear digital loincloths—metaphorically speaking, haha 😂😂, It’s incredible to me to see how far we’ve come—or perhaps regressed—morally, religiously, and naturally in America over just a few centuries of the modern era 🤔🤔. It makes me wonder if we’re truly civilized or not, because we keep acting like savages, haha 😂😂

Apocalypto is a 2006 film that, when I finished watching it, surprised me with Mel Gibson’s direction. Then, when I wrote my review—given its release year—man, studying really took up so much of my life because I didn’t even know this film existed back then during my college days, which drained absolutely all my time 🫠🫠

Fortunately, I’m more up to date on things now, and I’ve even seen that there’s going to be a sequel—and why wouldn’t there be, since this movie has everything it takes to appeal to audiences? I liked the part about the gods, which is why I chose that title for this review; you might like the spectacular action scenes, or maybe everything, because the movie really does have a well-balanced mix of everything 😌😌

Seeing that past in the movie—with an ancient civilization as powerful as the Maya—totally blew my mind. I think that if they’d had a few more centuries of development, they might have dominated the planet. It’s not an exaggeration—just look at how the U.S. dominates the planet, and it’s a baby nation in the world we live in, with the Americas having been conquered only very recently.

Piercings and tattoos blow my mind—the tattoos look awesome, haha 😜😜👍🏻. I’m not into getting tattoos on my own body because I don’t like to mistreat my wonderful body, but I admire the designs on other people’s skin, haha 😜😜, although in practice I prefer body paint, which I ultimately think serves the purpose of body art without being permanent. Of course, our ancestors really did like permanent markings, since those designs were a status symbol, just as the film shows—just look at the images I’m sharing; it’s mind-blowing 🤯🤯

The Hollywood formula for commercial success—which is based on family warmth woven into the stories, comic relief, and a plot twist at the end of the narrative—really works well for an ancient story 😎😎👍🏻

This has pleasantly surprised me, since I recently saw a poster for this movie in the community that really caught my attention; just the primitive, geometric image of a pyramid—which I didn’t realize was Mayan—was enough to make me want to watch this movie, and I hope that’s enough for you, too, to give this ambitious film by Mel Gibson a chance—it has every impossible element you can imagine woven into its storyline 🤯🤯

In fact, what I’ll criticize is the sheer number of plot twists, one after another, haha 😂😂

The movie is visually stunning because the actors really look like natives—I felt like I’d traveled back in time… but with models, haha, because they have such enviable physiques 🤣🤣

Aside from the humor in the above—which Mel pulls off very well—the Hollywood formula is evident in two aspects: comic relief. There’s a character who plays this role that I liked; in other words, I did laugh at him, so I thought this part of the formula worked well.

What I didn’t like, though, was the massive number of plot twists—that was even funnier than the comic relief character I just mentioned… The movie really has it all, haha—the only thing missing was King Kong showing up 🤣🤣. There’s a reason Hollywood screenwriters—and Hollywood itself—are what they are in the world: that imagination in writing is something to envy, along with the execution of those ideas 😎😎

In my case, I thought it was over the top, but in your case, it’s highly likely that all the plot twists made a positive impression on you, allowing the story to flow 🙂🙂👍🏻

I want to emphasize that I loved the part focused on Kukulcan, since it shows that they, as a civilization, suffered the very same treatment they inflicted on other tribes—a perspective that, whether accurate or not, certainly has its points worth debating

The point is that, on a global level, I’m glad the presence of this god was portrayed with such terror and aesthetic appeal through a Mayan priest who looks divine, haha. The whole scene is chaotic and mythological—I highly encourage you to watch this very visual story 😎😎

I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.

Buena peli.
