CHANNELING AN IDEA FOR MY PERSONAL BRAND [ENG/ESP]

Seeking to channel my appreciation for large and "curvy" female bodies, given the over-saturation of women's body image in recent years across all media outlets that market it to algorithms, I wanted to create a graphic synthesis as an exercise for an art class that would allow me to express an introspective critique of myself.
En busca de intentar canalizar mi gusto por los cuerpos femeninos grandes y "curvys", ya que en los últimos años se ha intensificado esa sobre saturación en todos los medios de comunicación donde comercializan la estética corporal de la mujer a gusto de los algoritmos; quise realizar una síntesis grafica como ejercicio para una clase en la universidad de artes que, que me permita expresar una crítica introspectiva hacia mí.
In class, the professor showed us a bunch of photographs by a unique artist and asked us to select an element from one of the photos that caught our attention. We would then use that element as a starting point for a graphic synthesis exercise. When I looked at the photographs, I noticed a recurring image of women as objects used to sexualize the scene. This allowed me to begin the exercise from that point. Since those photographs belong to an artist, I chose a photo from the internet as a reference; I liked the pose.
En la clase, el profesor nos presentó un montón de fotografías de un artista único, y nos pidió seleccionar un elemento de alguna fotografía que nos llamara la atención, y de allí partiríamos para hacer un ejercicio de síntesis grafica; cuando revisé las fotografías, pude notar que se repetía mucho la imagen de la mujer como un objeto para sexualizar la escena de la fotografía, eso me permitió partir a raíz de ese punto para el ejercicio. Como esas fotografías son propiedad de un artista, elegí una foto de internet para referencia, me gusto la pose.
First, we had to create a basic composition using the elements we chose from the photograph. This composition had to be set within the context of a past artistic movement. I chose to represent the "FEMME FATALE" movement, which was like the beginning of female empowerment, but in artistic terms. In the composition, I added several elements that I felt represented the saturation I see on my social media feeds. According to my algorithm, these elements represent the type of female empowerment I like, and it's not that I don't like the women it shows me; it's just that I feel like it has conditioned me to only desire that kind of image.
Primero teníamos que realizar una composición base con los elementos que elegimos de la fotografía, pero esta composición debe ir ambientada bajo las características de algún movimiento artístico del pasado; Elegí representar el movimiento "FEMME FATALE" que fue como un inicio del empoderamiento femenino, pero en términos artísticos. En la composición agregue varios elementos que considere representan esa saturación que veo en mis redes sociales y para mi algoritmo representan el tipo de empoderamiento femenino que a mí me gusta, y no es que no me gusten las mujeres que me muestra, es solo que ya siento que me ha condicionado a solo desear eso.
For the second exercise, we had to break down the previous composition and create a graphic synthesis, simplifying all the elements and the concept, and uniting them into a single visual synthesis. I really liked the result, although the professor told me it still had many unnecessary elements that detracted from the central figure, which is the focal point of the composition.
Para el segundo ejercicio teníamos que descomponer un poco la composición anterior y crear una síntesis gráfica, la simplificación de todos los elementos y el concepto, unirlos en una sola síntesis visual. El resultado me gustó muchísimo, aunque el profesor me dijo que todavía tenía muchos elementos innecesarios que le quitan peso a la figura central que es el atractivo de la composición.
So I decided to digitize the graphic design of my femme fatale version. I discarded what wasn't necessary for the image's concept and kept the central female figure. I loved this design, and since I'm currently formalizing my personal brand and want to launch a line of custom t-shirts, this design will be the first in a collection titled "Femme Fatale." I'll soon create more graphic designs following this concept. I hope you enjoyed this experience. Good vibes!
Así que decidí digitalizar el diseño de la síntesis grafica de mi versión de femme fatale, descarte lo que no es necesario para la conceptualización de la imagen y conserve la figura femenina central. Me encanto este diseño y como en este momento estoy formalizando mi marca personal y quiero sacar una línea de Franelas personalizadas, este diseño será el primero de una colección titulada femme fatale pronto creare más síntesis graficas siguiendo este concepto.
