Today we have rather sad news for our lovely community of Rabona fanatics. After almost 3 years since its launch, Rabona game is going to be shut down. Read on to learn more on what is the plan and the reasons behind this hard decision.

TL;DR

  1. Rabona game will be shut down after Season 106 ends. The game will stop working at all and not be accessible.
  2. Until then you can play normally, as well as withdraw funds from your account.
  3. This hard decision was taken due to lack of clear vision for Rabona’s future, as well as lack of funds and time to keep developing the project.

1. Rabona Shutdown

Rabona game is going to be completely shut down after the Season 106 is finished. This will mark the end of this journey, for which we —the current Rabona team — are very grateful to all of our players and supporters.

From the technical point of view, the entire system will be turned off. This means that we will stop processing any transactions broadcast to the Hive blockchain, simulating matches, etc. The interface for the game will also be shut down, so you will not longer be able to log in, manage your team, use the exchange, etc.

💡 Attention

Make sure to withdraw your funds (i.e. sell PEG.HIVE) from Rabona no later than after the Season 106 ends. Otherwise you will lose access to your account and will have issues reclaiming it.

2. The reasons why

Now that we have the difficult announcement behind, let’s talk about the reasons why we have decided to shut down Rabona.

2.1. Lack of vision for Rabona’s future

While there were certain plans for developing the game further and adding new features, the game lacks a proper vision and a roadmap. In a nutshell there was no agreement on tokenization as well as the issue of crypto winter and real life obligation for the team members. WE considered to draft a funding proposal on Hive but did not wanna bother the community to support a game, especially seeing how other games struggle these days.

2.2. Lack of funds

Unfortunately, Rabona lacks funds to sustain its costs for quite some time already. While recent changes allowed the game to sustain its reward system, there are still somewhat high running costs of servers and services, which @mciszczon has been paying out of his own pocket.

2.3. Lack of a team & time

Rabona has been lacking a proper team for a long time now. Maintaining the game while slowly developing new things were enough to keep @mciszczon busy. It left little time and energy for him to try building a new team of professionals to lead Rabona into the future—especially that he worked on the game in his free time.

3. Thank YOU!

We want to finish this post by thanking our users, which have played Rabona at any point in time, as well as all the supporters who helped us in any way—it was a great journey, and very developing! Thank you for all the kind words, ideas which you’ve shared, bugs which you’ve reported and helped to solve.

Also thanks to the original creators @rondras and @oliverschmid, for creating the game back in the days!

Your Rabona Team! @mciszczon @uwelang

would be cool to like "buy " the game lmao

  • @cryptosimplify(73)· 1233d

What is the chance to recreate the game if we define a proper roadmap and tokenomics?

  • @karinxxl(76)· 1321d

Ow mannnn I just saw this now as a Rabona regular player that you have shut down for understable reason.

All the best in the future tand that you for providing us all that entertainment over the years!

  • @tommyl33(74)· 1325d

  • @waalie(49)· 1325d

sad news. Thanks for making the game possible.

  • @hivebuzz(74)· 1326d

    Dear @rabona,
Our previous proposal expired end of December and the Hivebuzz project is not funded anymore. May we ask you to review and support our new proposal (https://peakd.com/me/proposals/248)?
    Thank you for your help!

  • @alexvan(79)· 1328d

    Sad to see you go!

  • @akumagai(69)· 1331d

how do you sell the peg.hive?

  • @uyobong(78)· 1332d

How sad it is to read this post today and now. The first game I enjoyed its gameplay. Really short of words but I think there can be a way out, not just on a dead end.

maybe you consider open source code for possible continuity and perhaps push fir DAO funding. This idea is too brilliant to be buried.

  • @hatoto(70)· 1332d

Extrem schade. Ich hab das Spiel gerne gespielt und mich gut um meinen Verein gekümmert 😥

  • @forykw(71)· 1332d

You guys did what you could, I am still around to follow whomever takes any lead on the project if anyone takes. These things need quite a lot of time. But the idea and the fun has been recorded. Now its up to whomever wishes to build on top, take the next step.

I surely enjoyed all the fun, but most importantly I have enjoyed learning with projects like these and see what difficulties exist (even if what I tried did help or was successful there are always lessons learned. That will surely help the next one, at least from my end.

    See you guys around... 😎

  • @cryptosimplify(73)· 1332d

What you think about put ada in the front end that will help to pay the team and also help to increase RBN value?

  • @ervin-lemark(76)· 1333d

This is a sad news yet understandable. You have your lives to live.

Thanks a lot to all four of you, especially to @mciszczon and @uwelang for giving Rabona a second chance.

Out of many games which appeared on Hive, Rabona was the one I was playing the longest. Now I am left with picking a tiny passive income at Rising Star and Splinterlands.

Thank you and good luck in your future endeavours.

  • @the01crow(69)· 1333d

Personally I enjoyed the game very much at the time, I played with 3 accounts, I could never make the 3 match in the same league, in some I climbed higher and in another account I was lower, thank you for your work in doing things for the community, the games are a way to generate connection with other users of the network.

It makes me a little sad to read that the game will be gone.

  • @oliverschmid(70)· 1333d

Thanks to @rondras, @mciszczon, and @uwelang. You guys rock.

  • @udabeu(72)· 1333d

Ups , but yes , the kryptogamingidea was so nice , but .... ? My rest of rabona funds is #YOURS , höhö , but yes .

    !LUV

  • @behiver(77)· 1333d

Nice journey and I am quite sad about Rabona shutting down. One question that probably the entire community wonders is if could the game source code be made open source in order for the community to pull together and maybe try to continue its development?...

  • @ace108(80)· 1333d

This is sad news. I've grown to check on my beer and brawhurst sales and train my players regularly and trade my players but it's been fun while we are at it. I saw my 5,000,000 RBN went to 928,025,417 RBN. I guess nothing matters now. All the best guys.

  • @forexbrokr(75)· 1333d

Are you guys going to release the code to the community?

If you've given up and not going to do anything with it, why not?

The base for tokenised hattrick is there.

  • @falcout(64)· 1333d

    That's so sad 😢

It was really fun to play.. thank you for all your efforts

  • @trincowski(72)· 1333d

I'm very sorry to hear about this. It was the most fun game in Hive. 😔

  • @seki1(71)· 1333d

Na... This is 😢 The only game i wanted to try out😥 Gone💔

  • @ramadhanight(74)· 1333d

Thanks for the services the teams were given, i believe you guys give your best effort to do that.

  • @mengao(70)· 1333d

Oh no!! I love the game! 😥

  • @igormuba(72)· 1333d

If you open source everything the community could try to recreate it themselves. Centralization is what kills Hive games. It is too easy to build centralized solutions on top of Hive.

  • @lifeskills-tv(75)· 1334d

Splinterland team working on some new soccer game I think talk to them they need your working at start. Hope some collaboration works. Or sell this project to them so they build new soccer project on this. Why ending 3 year work in this way.

  • @lifeskills-tv(75)· 1334d

What about RBN token we have ? - Who buy these token ? I think some refund system introduce ?

  • @yozen(50)· 1334d

So sad 😢 Thank @mciszczon, @uwelang and all the the guys that created it and kept it alive. I liked it very much...so I hope that one day it could reborn in some way.

  • @jaki01(77)· 1334d

Thanks for running Rabona for almost three years!

  • @heroldius(76)· 1334d

Sad news... but thanks for the game and it was fun to play... A big thank you for your investment of time & money 🙏. Too bad it didn't pay off.

  • @tengolotodo(78)· 1334d

That is a shame, but you have to do what you have to do!

  • @davideownzall(74)· 1334d

    Sad day 😔

  • @gentleshaid(75)· 1334d

The only game I have been involved in from the onset. Now I'm seeing the end. A really sad day for me and for the lovers of the game on hive. I wish the team the best in their individual endeavours.

  • @wlffreitas(68)· 1334d

I just followed the project while I was in doubt between dCity and Rabona as an investment, what happens is that the game would become monotonous at some point since it boils down to the same thing since its beginning season, a game only remains active when it there are news / updates otherwise it is something boring and tiring although it was a promising project ..
