Hey guys, how is your Splinterlands matches been going? Here to share another Modern Ranked battle with everyone. This time I got a battle with 31 Mana, so had to be a little more careful with my team selection.
The battle had a Fog of War modifier as well, making the match more interesting since that took out the Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities. I decided to use Barthalamus as my summoner and build a smaller lineup with just 3 cards.
Match details

Mana: 31
Elements: All Elements
Ruleset: Standard
Fog of War: Units lose Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity.
Since there were no other special rules to worry about, I mainly focused on choosing cards that would pair well together. The Fog of War modifier also meant that I did not have to worry about attacks coming from some of the usual positions.
My Team
With 31 Mana available, I decided to use Barthalamus and make a 3-card lineup.
For the summoner, I chose Barthalamus. His ability to give all friendly units +1 Speed was something I thought would be very useful in this battle. Having faster cards can make a huge difference in these types of fights where both teams are attacking each other.
Here was my lineup:

Summoner
Barthalamus
1st Position – Jolius Blast
2nd Position – Frankarsgard
3rd Position – Grand Consul Minion
My Team
I placed Jolius Blast in the first position since I wanted my strongest frontline card to face the enemy attacks first.
Behind him, I placed Frankarsgard. I wanted to have another strong card behind my frontline so it could continue fighting while Jolius Blast was taking the damage.
For the third position, I used Grand Consul Minion. I thought that having another useful card at the back would give me some extra support during the battle.
The +1 Speed from Barthalamus was something I was also looking forward to seeing in action. With only 31 Mana I did not want to waste mana on too many cards, so decided to go with 3 cards that had good abilities.
I was not completely sure how this small lineup would perform against my opponent, but was hoping that the speed boost along with the strength of my cards would be a big enough factor to get me the victory.
How the Battle Went

My enemy was ZAHEL and they also brought a strong lineup.
The battle started and my first focus was on Jolius Blast because he had to face the enemy attacks from the first position.
I was also interested to see how Barthalamus would help my team. The +1 Speed he gave to all friendly units was something that I thought would give them an extra advantage, and was hoping they could attack before the enemy cards.
The Fog of War modifier also changed the way the battle was being played. Since Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity were removed, I did not have to worry about some of the attacks that can normally target cards that are not in the frontline.
As the rounds went on, my team continued to attack the enemy. Jolius Blast continued to do his job in the first position while Frankarsgard and Grand Consul Minion supported him from behind.
With only 3 cards I knew that every card was important. If one went down too early, my team could quickly become weaker and I was watching the battle closely to see if my frontline could survive long enough for the other cards to do their work.
Slowly, the enemy team started to lose cards and my confidence grew. My lineup was performing better than expected.

Finally my team was able to finish the battle with a VICTORY.
Honestly, winning with just 3 cards in a 31 Mana battle was a great feeling. I was not completely sure about my line up prior to the battle, but it managed to do the job.
So I got another +20 rating and my final ratings was 320 in Bronze III in modern ranked match. I received +81 Glint from the battle too. I still had 48/50 energy available for more battles.

I also received my daily streak rewards which gave me +1 Free Spin and +500 Sparks. I was also happy to unlock the Kicking Roc Traveling Bazaar Skin. Getting something extra after the battle was nice.
Looking Ahead
This was another enjoyable Modern Ranked battle for me. The 31 Mana wasn't that high so I decided to keep my lineup small and use just 3 cards.
I really enjoyed playing with Barthalamus and how well his ability worked with the team. The +1 Speed he gave to all friendly units gave them some good speed, and the Fog of War modifier made the battle feel a little different from normal matches.
Jolius Blast did his job in the first position while Frankarsgard and Grand Consul Minion supported him from behind. In the end, the three card lineup was enough to bring me another victory.
The battle ended with a great victory and +20 rating, so I was happy with the outcome.
Now I'm going to continue with more of these Modern Ranked battles and hopefully move up from Bronze III. I still have plenty of energy left so maybe another battle will come along to give me yet another good result.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my battle report.
