Hey guys, how is your Splinterlands matches been going? I am here to share an interesting modern ranked battle with everyone. This time I got a huge 64 Mana battle. I was hoping to get another win and was able to secure a victory once again.
Match details
Mana: 64 Elements: dragon, life, death, fire, earth, water Ruleset: Heavy Hitters Modifier: All units have Knock Out (deals double damage if the target is stunned)
So this was a very interesting battle because of the huge 64 mana limit and the Heavy Hitters ruleset. With 64 mana available, both of us had total freedom to pick heavy hit cards with huge health pools. Under Heavy Hitters ruleset, if any unit gets stunned, taking double damage could melt them down in a second. So bringing strong stats and high damage was essential.
My Team
With 64 Mana available I decided to use Barthalamas as my summoner. Reason: I choose Barthalamas as my character because he gives +1 speed to all friendly units at the beginning of battle. Having extra speed can allow your team to get attack first and give important hits before the enemy gets to attack back.
My lineup:
Summoner Barthalamas 1st Position – Jolius Blast 2nd Position – Frankarsgard 3rd Position – Chaos Furybringer 4th Position – Vengeful Monk 5th Position – Great Bear Druid 6th Position – New Beluroc Aegis
How the Battle Went
My enemy was known as ACOLYTE_293404. The battle commenced and both of us summoned heavy teams to the board given the high 64 mana cap.
When the first round started my summoner Barthalamas gave me the +1 Speed boost to all my cards. That speed edge was extremely valuable right away, helping my units to attack before the opponent's cards in key exchanges.
At the front line Jolius Blast was doing miracle work. Taking big hits from enemy attacks while staying grounded thanks to his massive health. Meanwhile New Beluroc Aegis was drawing away crucial strikes with his Taunt.
During middle rounds both teams started to give each other heavy blows back and forth. The fight was intense and health bars were dropping, but my speed advantage and position structure kept my team dominant.
In the later rounds my enemy's cards started to vanish one by one. My Vengeful Monk kept picking off weak targets with Opportunity while the front line held firm.
It was a total 8 round battle and my team executed the strategy amazingly to secure the victory!
I was able to secure a victory and received 20 ratings and 82 glint rewards.
Looking Ahead
This was another Modern Ranked battle for me and this time I was able to get the victory. My team executed the strategy smoothly, combining speed-buffing summoner with strong Taunt and Opportunity play. Sticking to simple stat advantages like speed and strong target targeting can work out very good.
