Hello, BORA community!
This is BORA team. Just as summer starts to heat up, the BORA Island service that many of you have been waiting for was unveiled on July 1st. BORA Island will operate in a soft launch format for a period of time while services are stabilized. Updates will be applied regularly to improve functionality and platform safety. Today, I'd like to give you a brief introduction to BORA Island and what to expect.
Meet the blockchain for everyday life, BORA Island
BORA Island is a platform that provides a variety of blockchain content that users can enjoy in their daily lives. Traditional digital content platforms make it difficult for users to receive and maintain value for the time and effort spent engaging in various activities. BORA’s blockchain technology introduces strategies to solve this. For example, if you accumulate game points in a game that is later discontinued, those points can be maintained and used in other games. In BORA Island, you will find a variety of BApps (blockchain applications) provided by BORA. This comes on the heels of BORA Lagoon where developers can apply blockchain technology and test their digital content and BORA Atoll that provides development tool-kit needed to operate blockchain services.

In BORA, users can interact with digital content in a secure, blockchain-based environment without any specialized knowledge or introduction of the technology. With a focus on ease of use and adoption, BORA will continue to provide a variety of new digital content services.
Jump in and create a BORA Wallet!
Users need their own wallet to use blockchain apps and efficiently manage their digital assets. In BORA Island, a Wallet created for you when you sign up. This wallet provides an intuitive interface to view and manage your digital assets within BORA Island. After the simple signup process, users can use BAppsright away without any additional steps.
The BORA wallet supports a variety of asset trading services such as sending and receiving BORA Shell tokens, a cryptocurrency system dedicated to the BORA platform which is used to enjoy a wide range of BORA Island digital content. Users can also convert Shell tokens collected from BORA content into BORA tokens which can be externally withdrawn from the platform.
Safe and easy transactions
Executing transactions is easy. Unlike traditional blockchain wallets, users do not need to know complicated public key addresses to send assets. With only the recipient’s email address, users can send digital assets to one another. All transactions records can be viewed on the BORA Explorer which records all block information of the BORA blockchain. We'll discuss how to use the wallet in more detail in our next post.

Important note: while we improve and stabilize services through QA and user feedback, only TEST BORA and Shell tokens are used within the BORA Island platform and Wallet. DO NOT send mainnet BORA tokens to your BORA Island wallet during the soft launch.
Wide range of content BApps
In BORA Island, you can enjoy a wide range of BApps with a single account. All content available on the BORA platform uses BORA Shell as the base currency. This allows users to manage their digital assets more efficiently, such as using Shell obtained from one app on another.

In BORA Island, users can play games from BORA’s official partner UNIT5 - Push Sushi, Find Bird, and Snake Worm, while blockchain content in various areas, including webtoons, music, education, healthcare, and location services, will be updated regularly.
BORA Shell, BORA’s native platform token
Currently, BORA uses two currencies: BORA token (ERC-20) based on Ethereum, and BORA Shell, a token used only within the BORA platform. The BORA token can be traded or enchased through exchanges. Shell is available only within the BORA platform and is both used and acquired through accessing BORA content. Users will be able to convert between BORA Shell and BORA Tokens using the BORA ISLAND Wallet. Unlike transactions on the Ethereum network, there are no gas or transaction fees for trading BORA Shell tokens.

In the future, various content services and retail outlets will be added to the BORA ecosystem, enabling transactions using BORA Shell. In the BORA Island Part 2 guide to follow, we will provide more information about how to use your wallet and best utilize your access to BORA Island.
