Following Atreus into the Lower Wildwoods, I used Blades of Chaos to clear brambles and cross obstacles while investigating fresh Raider corpses. After finding a collapsed bridge, we pulled down a blockade and encountered a surviving Raider who had transformed into a dangerous monster, forcing father and son to fight.
Atreus had been searching for Tyr behind Kratos's back, insisting there was something hidden deep within the forest that his father needed to see. Though Kratos's patience grew thin, he agreed to follow the kid to the old temple in the Wildwoods.
Armed with both the Leviathan Axe and the Blades of Chaos, I guided Kratos into the Lower Wildwoods. Using the chain blades to grapple up high ledges, Kratos scaled the rock faces much faster than before.
Along the trail, we discovered several dead bodies of Raiders sticking out from the snow. Kratos noted that the arrows pierced into the corpses did not belong to the Raiders, warning that something else was hunting in these woods.
Moving deeper into the forest, we found more fresh kills scattered across the ground. Mimir suggested that Odin might have cut off the protection spell around the area entirely, leaving the woods exposed to danger.
Atreus knelt to inspect animal tracks in the snow before leading us toward a nearby path. Finding our route blocked by heavy red brambles, I used the Blades of Chaos to ignite the vines, that started burning through the barrier to clear the way forward.
We soon arrived at a wooden bridge that was completely collapsed. Atreus admitted we needed to find another path, prompting Mimir to ask why the kid had been coming to this dangerous place alone. Atreus explained that strange dreams had drawn him here in search of answers.
Spotting a heavy wooden blockade nearby, I used the Blades of Chaos to latch onto the timber and pull the obstacle down.
Low growling sounds echoed from the far side of the barrier as the wood gave way. Crossing through the opening, we found a surviving Raider hanging from a tree frame above the path. Kratos advised Atreus to look closer, and I used the Blades of Chaos to cut the man down.
The father and son were forced to engage the target together as the Raider was actually mutated into a grotesque monster, he didn't survive or anything.
I used the fiery strikes of the Blades of Chaos to break the monster's guard, keeping a close eye on Atreus as he fought alongside Kratos near the swinging chains. It almost looked like Atreus was going to get damage from my blades as well, be he wouldn't, I'm sure of that.
That's all for this session. More moments coming soon and thanks for checking it out.
