Blame it On The Moon

My husband would roll his eyes at this, but fuck this has been a strong moon. @haveyoumetellie called my attention to it the other day - like many of us on Hive, the last few weeks have been a bit rough. Whether you can blame it on the moon or not (or thank her) is quite another story, but dammit, this reads so true for me. Perhaps it's just nice to have a reason for feeling so fucked up.

So get this - in astrology this has been a Pisces moon - very sensitive and emotional. It's associated with emotions rising to the surface (tick), feeling other people's energy more strongly (oh boy, have I), heightened sensitivity (shut up tears), exhaustion or wanting to withdraw (I simply cannot), compassion, endings and surrender, and things that have been buried becoming difficult to ignore (no pushing that shit where the sun don't shine).

image.png Taken by my friend with the crescent Moon–Venus pairing from 16 August 2026 in Australia - Venus and the young crescent Moon were very close together — about 2.2° apart — which is close enough to make a beautiful pairing in the sky.

Sound familiar? And apparently - allegedly - this waning moon immediately after a Pisces eclipse (who saw it?) means that the next few days will be more about processing and releasing than pushing forward.

Thank the fucking moon for that.

Pisces also tends to dissolve things, they say, rather than forcing a solution. Here's me looking for the answers and maybe I just needed to sing to the moon.

So, if the Full Moon occurred on 28 August, today I'm more essentially in the aftershock/integration period rather than building toward it, which is a damn relief because there's not much more of this I can take.

Our less expert shot of the same moon from our balcony - Venus was SO bright!

Whether or not you believe in it or not, I'm going to roll with this astrological framework. Even if it's just a bit of neural pathway printing, because I choose to believe, it's better than life sucking for the foreseeable.

Speak to me in a few days and see if I'm feeling less depressed, less bleak, less emotional, less irritable.

If I'm not, fuck the moon, fuck the stars, fuck the sun.

I'll dig my own way out.

For my Hive homies @coinjoe, @haveyoumetellie, @livinguktaiwan, @beelzael and anyone else that's been feeling it lately. We are not alone.

With Love,

Wish it could just dissolve. It's the eternity that scares me. The necessary eternity, because there is no better outcome. I can't wish for death. It might help me, personally, egoistically, maybe, but not my child.

So, yes, fuck the fucking moon. One shovel at a time. We'll find the surface somehow, either breaking through, or crashing down.

Maybe we can mark it down as being the moons fault this time around. Hopefully you are digging your way out. Feel like I am. Hope others are too.

  • Sometimes the moon will affect me, not so much this time. But one thing my friend Tom, who's an IT guy, has noticed is that Mercury retrograde has a huge effect on how well things work. I've noticed when Mercury goes retrograde, my computers/phone often have issues throughout. Sometimes other mechanical things go off too.

When things get too wonky, I ask Tom if Mercury is retrograde and more often than not, yup....

I know nothing about astrology, but I'm an expert on tautology!:)

  • Speak to me in a few days and see if I'm feeling less depressed, less bleak, less emotional, less irritable. If I'm not, fuck the moon, fuck the stars, fuck the sun.

Not only them.. sometimes I even blame the retrogrades, especially Mercury. Haha.

I know, if they're listening, they're prolly rolling their eyes at us, too.

Let's take a moment to enjoy that picture, thanks to your friend.

And I'm so grateful for this community...my emotions are validated, and I don't feel like a freak losing my head. Hugs. 💕

These are the right words. Hope for God, but don't be a fool yourself.

You can blame all the problems on the Moon and constellations, but... To hell with it.
