With the diesel prices as they are in Australia, it's no wonder I'm seeing VW electric vans around. I want one. But I don't have 80k plus for a new van let alone an electric car, and my 2006 VW Transporter will be my van for life, unless I have a windfall!
She's beat up, nearly every panel scratched or dented from hitting kangaroos and once, a fence, but she's still a legend, carrying boards, shopping, wood, bikes and any other random things we are project building with.
However, it was time to get her some new seat covers - the old ones were holey and ripped, and Mum had given me some birthday money with the very explicit instruction to not pay bills but buy myself a treat, and so I decided to fall for the hype around these gorgeous Solara seat covers which I thought could be a scam or just a bit too poser for me. Still, they worked out reasonably cheap and were less boring than black.
Despite some negative reviews to the contrary, they arrived in a week, which was awesome, because I have no patience. They're one size fits all, and to my suprise, yep, they fit - not ultra snug, but well enough, and the seatbelt holes were in just the right spot for my t5 and the seat recliner wheel also had a space to poke through.
There is a mesh pocket at the front for maps or phones, and a pocket at the back, which to be fair could be sturdier, but it'll do for random things like waterproof ear plugs and sunblock if I'm not keeping them in the door cards, which is more than likely anyway.
Turns out I absolutely love them - they'll be great for when I come home in my wetsuit or bathers - they're waterproof and wipe clean. I'm not the tidiest nor the cleanest when it comes to my van (I sweep buckets of sand out, pull out jackets, clothes and underwear, and wipe it once a month if I'm lucky) so these are uber pracctical for me. I think they'll settle a little with use too and I could probably tighten them up a little more, just I was excited to take photos to share with Jamie, who had encouraged me to get them.
As I told my generous Mum, I wuv them.
Check out some of their designs - which one would you choose? There's 25 designs to choose from. I've also seen them on Defenders and other vehicles as well, so you're not limited at all to a VW T5! Here's a referral link if you'd like to use it! I really think they're worth the money, and I think they even have a sale on. Let me know if you think you might buy some!
