Greetings from home—specifically from my hammock. Everyone is taking part in the Halloween month of horror, and I want to join in too by talking about a movie I saw many years ago. I was a sweet young woman in my twenties back then—that was when I watched a horror movie for the very first time 😱 😱.
The movie is called The Exorcist (1973). I had never seen a horror movie in my life before that 😱 😱. In my town, we didn't even have a television; if we wanted to watch something, we had to go to the cinema accompanied by an adult. So, by the time I finally got to see this movie everyone was talking about, I was already an adult.
I was very brave to want to watch it, because people in my town said that if you saw that movie, strange things would happen to you. This terrifying film scared many people in my town; they said Mr. Alfonzo—the old man from the corner—died of a heart attack after watching it. I never knew if it was true, but when they found him dead on the floor, he was holding a newspaper that showed Linda Blair's face. Everyone in town believed a curse had fallen upon us because that movie had been brought to the town square cinema.
Years later, once I was an adult, I decided to summon up a lot of courage and watch it with some friends, and we were absolutely terrified 😱 while watching it. It featured a mother—a film actress named Chris MacNeil (played by Ellen Burstyn)—who had a daughter around 12 years old. Strange things began happening to the girl, as if she were possessed by the devil; in real life, the actress playing her was named Linda Blair (and the character was Regan). I would never forget that name—Linda Blair. The horrific things that happened to that girl... we were all trembling and felt such deep emotion for that poor child who was suffering so much, and we felt such rage toward the evil demon capable of doing that to a child. I suffered so much because of it; even today, I still feel that pain.
Upon seeing the horrible things happening to her daughter, the mother decided to turn to the Church and find a priest, convinced that this was the work of the devil. The priest decided to intervene and brought an elderly colleague with him; together, they did the impossible to exorcise the girl.
What followed involved supernatural events and a harrowing exorcism process. The entire atmosphere was one of terror. The scenes were terrifying 😱 😱 😨, and every time Linda Blair transformed, sheer terror 😱 😱 😱 would take hold of us. 
The ending is both shocking and moving; despite the passing years, I have never forgotten this movie, and the name Linda Blair—along with the face of that little girl—always comes to mind as a memory of the 😱 horror.
