Hello friends of Hive a few days ago I was in the city of soissons in France a few hours from Paris, I was visiting a couple of days and visited this beautiful church called Église Saint Pierre.

This beautiful church is very old, it was declared historical heritage in 1846 but not what is its exact date of construction as it was by 1790 when it underwent some major repairs, but it is known that it was built in the twelfth century so it is a very old architectural infrastructure.

It is very beautiful as you can see it reminds me of those stories of knights when the knight undertakes the journey and arrives at those monasteries, where he makes a stop, you can be here and perceive that medieval atmosphere.

The church currently functions as a parish church, you can go to mass here and has its assigned catholic priest, the issue is that at the time of my visit the church was closed, it is common in most churches in France usually have hours except for the tourist cathedral churches that also close but open almost all day, they usually close in the evenings.

I really enjoyed my day here visiting this beautiful church of the medieval period, I know that most of the buildings here are gothic of this date I could not say exactly if the style is gothic, I think this church had less budget at the time of its construction so the other churches that I have seen gothic style is more noticeable, in this one everything looks simpler.

It seems to me very well that in this country this type of works are rescued in spite of being property of the catholic church the French government participates actively in preserving this type of works, it is interesting as the churches are one of the few architectural works that last centuries, clear that they receive repairs, but the majority of houses of that time no longer exist only the highways churches and castles, we are speaking of the XII century.

The door painted in red I really like it seems to me a very beautiful detail aesthetically , I think it was also like that in ancient times and is a detail that have decided to keep , the entire infrastructure retains most ancient details do it to preserve the architectural work as best as possible and attract tourists , I find it very smart on the part of the government.

I enjoyed the beautiful weather and this beautiful architectural work , I stayed here for more than an hour , too bad it was closed but my imagination flew when I saw this beautiful old church , surely there were thousands at the time .

It seems incredible to me that by the 12th century in Europe these architectural works already existed and in the rest of the world the population was indigenous, although I believe that in Asia they also developed quite a lot and there were similar architectural works.

It has been a pleasure to take these photos for the Architecture+Design community, it is very enjoyable that there is a community like this in Hive, it feels very friendly, it is very fun to take many photos when you are walking through a city and you see some interesting architectural work, so I will try to do it more often.
