When Your Card Collection Starts Working on the Land

Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!

After discussing Essence Orbs, Orcs, and the Rainbow Collection challenge, I’d now like to explore what I consider one of the more interesting aspects of Collector Achievements: Land Feats.

Land Feats aren’t just cards to display in a binder. They are special cards that provide Production Power (PP) and specific abilities that can be used on Land plots.

Two Reward Paths, Two Things to Consider

Each completed Collector Achievement gives you the opportunity to choose one reward: a prefix title or a Land Feat.

A prefix title gives you an additional identity as well as a ranked-play bonus. Land Feats, on the other hand, offer Production Power and abilities related to Land production.

For example, the Essence Orbs achievement lets you choose Ella Ironcaller, which provides 2,000 PP, 3% Bountiful Iron, and -3% Light Rationing.

For the Orcs achievement, there’s Brakden, which provides 1,000 PP and 3% Toil and Kin (Orc).

Meanwhile, the Rainbow Collection offers several Land Feats with different PP values and abilities. Quarry Golem provides 3,000 PP, Bowman Woodward provides 5,000 PP, and Hellaphant Hauler provides 500 PP.

These numbers give Land players another good reason to pursue collection achievements.

What I find interesting about this system is how it connects card collecting with other activities within the Splinterlands ecosystem.

Until now, players may have had two separate goals: collecting cards and managing Land. Collector Achievements attempt to bring these two activities together through rewards earned by completing collection milestones.

Make Sure You Place Your Rewards Correctly

However, there are a few rules to keep in mind.

Land Feats earned through Collector Achievements can be used on any Land plot. If you earn multiple Land Feats from different achievements, you can distribute them across different plots.

However, Land Feats cannot be stacked on the same plot. So before choosing a reward, it’s worth thinking about how you plan to use that card.

In addition, these rewards are non-transferable and remain tied to the collection requirements. If you remove a required card from your binder and no longer meet the achievement requirements, you may also lose access to the associated reward.

In other words, completing an achievement isn’t the end of the journey. You need to maintain your collection to keep its benefits available.

A More Focused Collection Strategy

For me, Land Feats make Collector Achievements feel like more than just a reward system. They create a connection between the effort of collecting cards, the choice of rewards, and Land activities.

For new players, this is also an important lesson: don’t judge a reward solely by its PP value or bonus percentages. Check whether it fits the activities you’re currently pursuing.

Ultimately, the best collection isn’t necessarily the most expensive or the most complete. It’s the one that helps you achieve your goals in Splinterlands.
