Oh, that "Ms. Haste"! She leaves things undone, priorities unfinished, and paths unexplored. Everything ends so quickly, often before we even see it begin. Greetings, friends; it is a pleasure to connect with you here in the Encuentro de Talentos (Talent Gathering) space. We are discussing daily preparation—how, sometimes, we have a plan in mind, yet a different adventure unfolds instead. Together with our friend @angelica7 and #EmpowerTalent, this is a space to reflect on the past, present, and future.
I’m sharing this week’s adventure with you in Encuentro de Talentos: "Preparation". You are invited to tell us how you prepare for your daily life—what your planning looks like, whether in these daily spaces or at home.
My approach to preparation has changed significantly over the years; I used to always stay one step ahead, ensuring everything was ready in advance, whereas now I tend to let life surprise me. Nevertheless, it is important to maintain some breathing room between what we desire and what we can actually achieve.
With young children, the hectic pace of life forced me to plan ahead—keeping uniforms ready and having extra poster board on hand for weekends, since "last-minute" assignments always seemed to pop up. I never found myself in the situation you see people joking about online—scrambling to find poster board on a Sunday for an assignment they’d forgotten about. I was the type of parent who checked the kids' notebooks to see if there was any outstanding homework.

But they grew up, and I no longer needed to have all these things prepared. Changes came, and I began to write. At first, I would jot down any topic that caught my eye so I could write about it. I took photographs that might help me develop a theme or a post. But gradually, I didn't need an excuse to write; simply getting up in the morning, having my cup of coffee, and looking at the sky provided enough inspiration for my daily routine.

There was no longer any rush in the mornings; it was about taking a moment to energetically prepare for the day. It was about realizing that things happen, and all that remains is the personal perspective we take on life. When we make time for ourselves, creating content becomes part of our daily routine—you don't have to force it; the planning happens naturally, without even needing to write it down.

We no longer share the frothy foam of a café con leche down to the very last drop; instead, memories of those hurried morning moments come flooding back. Everything has been preparing me for this moment—to live wherever I happen to be and simply enjoy it.
I now let my children surprise me by taking me to new places; I don't struggle to find out where we’re going—I simply let myself be pampered and guided toward experiences I can enjoy without tiring myself out.

I am preparing for a daily life that is increasingly different from the Venezuela I knew, all while looking at WhatsApp statuses and group chats where people report five-hour power outages and a lack of running water all week long. Two realities—what awaits me there and what I live here—coexist in a single life; all I can do is mentally prepare myself to keep going.
Preparing myself and allowing myself to be surprised is now among my two daily possibilities.
See you on the road.
