Una feliz semana amigos de Encuentro de Talentos, tengo que decir que esta semana toma un gran significado el no rendirse jamás. Cuando uno logra tener bonitos encuentros con otros Hiver, cuando estoy a pocas semanas de regresar a mi hogar en Venezuela; el no rendirse está a flor de piel.
Sé de las grandes dificultades que están afrontando, las leo a diario en los grupos de whatsapp, fallas en los servicios de agua, luz. Yo no quiero rendirme y siempre espero que mi Venezuela recupere su belleza interior, la de las personas que a pesar de todos los problemas, salen a trabajar diariamente.
Wishing a happy week to my friends at Encuentro de Talentos. I must say that, this week, the idea of never giving up holds special significance. Between the wonderful encounters I’ve had with fellow Hivers and the fact that I am just a few weeks away from returning home to Venezuela, the resolve not to give up is very much at the forefront of my mind.
I am well aware of the immense difficulties you are facing—I read about them daily in our WhatsApp groups, such as the failures in water and electricity services. I refuse to give up, and I always hope that my Venezuela will regain its inner beauty—the beauty found in the people who, despite all the problems, go out to work every single day.

Todos hemos sufrido un día de tirar la toalla y de no querer luchar más por alguna meta, algún propósito o simplemente no querer recoger el desastre del cuarto de los niños (por ejemplo). Todos estos momentos son validos, pero parece que nuestro cerebro continua siempre dándonos razones de peso para continuar. Para seguir intentándolo o sobrevivir con el desorden en la vida.
Puedo decirles que pueden pasar varias cosas a lo largo de tu recorrido, volverás una y otra vez a levantarte y tratar de poner orden (como ejemplo para tus hijos), pero la vida continuara y ellos terminaran encontrando su propio orden. Y te puedo asegurar que nunca, pero nunca será igual al tuyo. Trataran de igualarte y no entenderán de donde sacabas fuerzas para no rendirte con ellos.
We have all had days when we wanted to throw in the towel—when we didn't want to fight for a goal or a purpose anymore, or simply didn't want to clean up the mess in the kids' room (for instance). These moments are all valid, yet our brains seem to keep giving us compelling reasons to carry on—to keep trying or to simply survive the chaos of life.
I can tell you that various things will happen along the way: you will pick yourself up time and again to try to bring order to things (setting an example for your children), but life will go on, and they will eventually find their own sense of order. And I can assure you that it will never—ever—be exactly like yours. They will try to emulate you, yet they won't understand where you found the strength not to give up on them.

Igual nos sucede con el día a día, esta aventura que llamamos vida, el solo hecho de abrir los ojos y levantarnos es no tirar la toalla, poner los pies en el suelo y prepararnos un café al mismo tiempo que preparamos el desayuno para todos, es el equivalente a la fuerza de una bomba atómica, genera una energía invisible pero que lo mueve todo.
Creo que el no rendirse es parte esencial de la naturaleza humana, el volver a intentarlo una y otra vez, cometiendo errores, variando los elementos se vuelve un experimento de vida. Creo que muy pocos sabremos a la final de nuestros días que también habremos dejado un ejemplo de lucha continua. Solo observamos el camino tomado por los hijos y el propio. Dejando una estela de ejemplo de no rendirse nunca y volver a intentarlo.
The same applies to our daily lives—that adventure we call living. The mere act of opening our eyes and getting up means refusing to throw in the towel; planting our feet on the floor and brewing coffee while preparing breakfast for everyone is akin to the power of an atomic bomb—generating an invisible energy that sets everything in motion.
I believe that refusing to give up is an essential part of human nature; trying again and again—making mistakes and varying the elements—turns life into an experiment. I think very few of us will realize, at the end of our days, that we have also left behind an example of ceaseless struggle. We simply observe the paths our children take, as well as our own, leaving a trail that exemplifies never giving up and always trying again.

En estos comienzos del recorrido en Hive jamás pensé tener la oportunidad de reunirme con otros Hivers, pero la vida me enseño a no tirar la toalla. Igual les comento a los que sienten esa ilusión de reunirse, también a los que sienten que el país Venezuela se les ha ido de las manos, nunca, pero nunca tiren la toalla. Mantengan una pequeña vela de esperanza.
Por cierto el termino que uso de tirar la toalla viene del mundo del boxeo (pulgilismo) cuando un entrenador ve que su boxeador está gravemente herido o agotado, lanza una toalla dentro del cuadrilátero (el ring) muchas veces para salvar su vida.
Early on in my Hive journey, I never imagined I’d have the chance to meet up with other Hivers, but life taught me never to throw in the towel. I want to say this to those who dream of such meetups, and also to those who feel like Venezuela is slipping through their fingers: never—ever—throw in the towel. Keep a small candle of hope burning.
By the way, the expression "throwing in the towel" comes from the world of boxing; it’s what a trainer does when they see their fighter is seriously injured or exhausted—tossing a towel into the ring, often to save the fighter's life.

Así que es valido en algunos momentos de la vida tirar la toalla para salvar una vida, pero lo que nunca debemos olvidar es el volver a levantarnos en cada ocasión.
