Hello there! **@saydie** here, playing **Splinterlands** everyday!
Splinterlands first introduced seasonal events around the same time as last year. Usually, this events includes some kind of sale, whether it be discounted packs, promo cards or skins. And since the cream and the crop of the game was through it battles, these seasonal events also includes Seasonal Modifiers that can only be played while the current event last. But as we go to this year's Hallows Fall event, there was really no seasonal ruleset tied to it, This is because the supposed modifier that was tied to the season has become part of the regular ruleset circulation and its not the only one.
So, I had to think what will happen on the other seasonal events, with their seasonal modifier becoming part of regular battles. But first let's look at all the seasonal rulesets.
Seasonal Rulesets
When we say seasonal rulesets, this means that the ruleset can only found on battles within the duration of the said event. This gives players something to look forward within their battles and make the season feels more special. So far, there used to have 5 seasonal rulesets, but 3 of those have now become part of the regular ruleset rotation. I do not know what the team is planning to do with the rest whether they will add a different seasonal ruleset to replace those modifiers that they normalized, but as for the Hallows Fall event that is currently going on, there seems to be no new seasonal ruleset to be introduced.
Seasonal Rulesets
Blood Moon
First introduced as a Seasonal Ruleset for Hallow's Fall Event, but was later on become part of the regular ruleset rotation. These modifier gives the Bloodlust ability on all units.
Dragon's Breath
First introduced as a Seasonal Ruleset for Dragons Feast Event, but was later on become part of the regular ruleset rotation. These modifier gives the Burning effect when units gets hit directly by either melee or magic attacks. At the beginning of each round, Burning has a 33% chance to spread to adjacent units, then all Burning units loses 2 health each round.
Frostbite
First introduced as a Seasonal Ruleset for Winter Fest Event, and currently remains as a seasonal modifier. These modifier gives all units the Weary debilitation that has a 10% chance for them to be exhausted and be unable to attack. On the rounds that they fail to attack, the units will lose 2 health.
Hey Jealousy
First introduced as a Seasonal Ruleset for Amorendel Event, and currently remains as a modifier specific to the event. These modifier makes the cards attack the enemy unit with the highest health. This ruleset also allows melee units to attack from any position.
Eggceleration
First introduced as a Seasonal Ruleset for Eggstravaganza Event, but was soon added as part of regular ruleset rotation. With this modifier all units will gain a +1 to all stats at the end of each round.
Closing
Overall, two out of the five seasonal ruleset has remain as an exclusive event only modifiers. Kind of awkward given that whenever an Seasonal event comes without a temporary modifier comes, players have less things to look forward to. And they will get reminded of that when during seasonal events with an exclusive modifier included.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
