Absent Minded, a Slovenian band from Branik, began performing in 1994 and remained active until 2000; since then, they have reunited occasionally to perform at festivals. They are prominent representatives of the “do-it-yourself” (DIY) movement and have released one demo cassette and one studio album.
During their most active period in the 1990s, Absent Minded played a raw and experimental blend of hardcore and alternative punk rock.
Their sound was not classic, melodic punk, but distinctly underground, noisy, and diverse.
Raw energy, fast rhythms, distorted guitars, and rebellious, unpolished vocals formed the core of their sound.
The song “Sm Bu Pejen” (in the Primorska/Šavrin/Carst dialect; it means “I was drunk”) is from their album Kuomu Zida Wače Luopo (To Whom the Father Builds a Shed), released in 1997.
