Last month, I wrote about a niche blog, @over60health, talking about SEO planning for the blog and ideas about how I would use postcards for outreach. This month I am back talking about two other niche blogs and the postcard ideas I have for them.
I want to use the postcards as business cards and flyers as I go about my every day, attend events, leave in coffee shops, libraries etc. As a postcard, they have a blank side for messages, and can be sent through the post. It's a technique I've used previously for small scale local promotion. Each one will have a QR code with the url for the blog, as well as the url itself, on the reverse.
@taintedlove
This blog is writing focused, and I'm already facing a dilemma: Should the descriptors be:
- Spontaneous prose
- Prose poetry
- Creative non-fiction or
- Spontaneous prose
- Prose poetry
- Lyric fieldwork
Creative non-fiction is more easily recognised as an encompassing genre, lyric fieldwork is closer to the types of things I tend to write. I guess it depends how niche I want to be. Feedback welcome.
I chose @taintedlove (you might know this version of the song), not to write about romantic love and heartbreak, but as an idea about our relationship with the world.
Here's the ideas for the postcards, let me know what you think:
