Today, I want to share something a little different—a new song I’ve written titled "Feel Me." I’ve recorded this as a stripped-back acoustic version, just me and my guitar, leaning into a jazz-swing rhythm that really lets the lyrics breathe.
The Vibe: Sensual, Not Vulgar When I wrote this, I wanted to capture a very specific energy. The lyrics are catchy and a bit mysterious—telling the story of a "Mistress of Disguise" named Desire. It’s a song about attraction and the thrill of the moment.
I’ve aimed for a sound that is sensual and sexual, but never vulgar. There’s a fine line there, and I think the "lingering" jazz influence helps keep it sophisticated. It’s about the tension, the "thrill me, kiss me, kill me" intensity, and the pure connection between two people.
Finding Joy in Unsure Times We are living through some incredibly unsure times. Everything feels heavy, and sometimes it feels like the world has forgotten what pure joy feels like.
Music has always been my escape, and with "Feel Me," I wanted to create something that reminds us to stop overthinking ("Don't think twice") and just enjoy the feeling of being alive and connected to someone else. It’s a playful, rhythmic "scat" toward the end because sometimes words aren't enough—you just need that cha-ka-ta-pa rhythm to express the soul!
