I still think about 2016 sometimes and how I completely missed the first release of the Walking Liberty Gold Coin during the Centennial. I was following the news, watching everyone get excited, and somehow I still let it slip right past me. I was so annoyed with myself😞. I told myself right then, “If they ever bring this design back, I’m not missing it again.” And I meant it.

So when the Mint announced this new release, I was ready. I kept an eye on the dates, checked the updates, and made sure I wasn’t going to repeat that 2016 mistake. And I didn’t. I grabbed it the moment I could.😊

I’ve always had a soft spot for Lady Liberty the way Adolph Weinman designed her. That look — the way she’s moving forward, the flow of her gown, the whole feeling of strength and calm at the same time. It’s classic and doesn’t get old. Every time I see that design, it hits me the same way it did the first time. Some artwork just sticks with you, and this one always has.

That’s why the coins with this design have always been my favorites. The Walking Liberty Half Dollar, the American Silver Eagle… those pieces are special. They’re simple, beautiful, and they carry a kind of quiet history with them. You can hold one and feel like you’re holding a little piece of America’s story, not just a coin.

So when this new release came around, I wasn’t about to let it pass me by again. I was ready, watching the clock for the sale to drop. And when it finally arrived, it felt like a small personal win. Not just because I finally have the coin, but because I kept a promise I made to myself ten years ago.

Some designs just stay with you. This one always has, and I’m glad it’s finally in my collection where it belongs.
