When I started following FC Barcelona as a child, visiting its stadium, the Camp Nou, naturally became one of my dreams. Years later, as an adult, I hadn't forgotten it, and when the opportunity arose, I made the arrangements to fulfill that dream.

Cuando empecé a seguir al FC Barcelona de niña, por supuesto que ir algún día a conocer su estadio, el Camp Nou, se convirtió en uno de mis sueños. Años después, ya de adulta, no lo olvidé, y cuando pude, me organicé para cumplir ese sueño.

As part of my series of posts about Barcelona, a trip I took a few years ago, I’d like to share with you my visit to this magnificent sports venue. It was my second day in the city, and since my friend’s apartment (where I was staying) was nearby, I planned to walk to the stadium early in the morning.

Era mi segundo día en la ciudad, y como el apartamento de mi amiga (donde me alojé) quedaba cerca, mi plan fue irme caminando temprano en la mañana hasta el estadio.

As soon as I caught sight of the stadium's imposing structure, my excitement grew, I couldn't believe I was actually there. I quickened my pace, reached the entrance, stood in line, and bought my ticket, which cost 19 euros.

Apenas avisté la imponente estructura del estadio, mi emoción aumentó, no podía creer que estaba allí. Caminé más rápido, llegué a la entrada, hice la cola y compré mi ticket, que costó 19 euros.

With this ticket, you could access the Barça Museum, the field, and other areas, such as the store selling official team merchandise.

Con este ticket podías acceder al Museo del Barça, a la cancha y a otras áreas como la tienda con productos oficiales del equipo.

The tour begins at the museum, which, of course, featured an exhibition on the team's history from its origins to the present day. Fútbol Club Barcelona was founded on November 29, 1899, and Camp Nou Stadium opened its doors on September 24, 1957.

El tour comienza por el museo, que por supuesto tenía una exposición con la historia del equipo desde sus orígenes hasta la actualidad. El Fútbol Club Barcelona se fundó el 29 de noviembre de 1899 y el estadio Camp Nou abrió sus puertas el 24 de septiembre de 1957.

Iconic players such as Johan Cruyff, Maradona, and Messi were highlighted in the exhibition. It also houses the collection of all the trophies won and many other interesting items related to the club.

Jugadores emblemáticos del equipo, como Johan Cruyff, Maradona o Messi, aparecían destacados en la muestra. Además, allí está la colección de todas las copas ganadas y muchas otras piezas interesantes relacionadas con el club.

There were a lot of people there the day I went, so the museum wasn't quiet, which made it a little hard to concentrate on the interactive exhibits, which featured screens showing scenes from games, interviews, and so on.

Había muchísima gente el día que fui, por lo que el museo no estaba en silencio, así que costaba un poco concentrarse en las exposiciones interactivas que había, con pantallas que mostraban escenas de partidos, entrevistas, etc.

There was a part where you could listen to the Barça anthem and read the lyrics to sing along. I already knew it, I’d learned it as a child, and I got emotional singing it there 😊.

Había una parte donde podías escuchar el himno del Barça y leer la letra para cantarlo. Yo me lo sabía, lo había aprendido de niña, y me emocionó cantarlo allí 😊.

After the museum, it was time to check out the field, the stands, that whole magnificent setting that I'd seen so many times on TV.

Después del museo, llegó el momento de ir a conocer la cancha, las gradas, todo ese grandioso escenario que tantas veces vi por televisión.

Camp Nou is the soccer stadium with the largest capacity in Europe, holding more than 100,000 spectators. Being there and stepping onto that field was an amazing feeling 😃.

El Camp Nou es el estadio de fútbol con más aforo de Europa, con capacidad para más de 100.000 espectadores. Estar allí pisando esa cancha fue una gran sensación 😃.

Then I thought that, without a doubt, the next thing on my list was to go see a Barça game there someday.

Luego pensé, que sin duda, lo siguiente a cumplir era asistir algún día a un partido del Barça allí.

The tour allowed us to walk through part of the stands, and I discovered that the press box was accessible. As a journalist, I couldn't miss that! So I went over there to sit down and imagine myself on the air 😄.

El tour permitía recorrer parte de las gradas y me encontré con que se podía acceder al palco de la prensa. Como periodista que soy, ¡no me podía perder eso! Y allí fui a sentarme y a imaginarme en una transmisión 😄.

To wrap up the visit, I went to the official Barça store. There were so many tempting products, but I didn't want to run out of money for the rest of my trip 😂, so I held back and only bought a bag and some pens.

Para finalizar la visita, fui a la tienda oficial del Barça. Había demasiados productos atractivos, pero no quería quedarme sin presupuesto para el resto de mi viaje 😂, así que me contuve y sólo compré una cartera y unos bolígrafos.
