🎵 Re-Imagine Me Within — 13 Songs, Two Artists, One Strange Musical Conversation | Bonnie Legion & Makis Gibs

RE-IMAGINE ME WITHIN Bonnie Legion & Makis Gibs — A 13-Track Collaborative Album Coming October 10, 2026

There are albums you sit down and decide to make, and then there are albums that seem to decide for themselves that they need to exist. Re-Imagine Me Within became the second kind.

On October 10, 2026, Makis Gibs and I will release our 13-track collaborative album Re-Imagine Me Within through Sound Legion, arriving across major digital music platforms. This album grew out of distance, improvisation, technology, friendship, guitar strings, late-night ideas, unexpected inspiration and two artists discovering that our very different creative backgrounds somehow speak the same musical language.

For me personally, it also represents another chapter in a musical journey that has already been going on for a very long time.

A Little About Me — Shavon Bonnie Legion

For anyone discovering me for the first time, my name is Shavon Rose Grass, and I create music primarily under the name Bonnie Legion / Shavon Bonnie Legion. I have been writing, recording and releasing music for more than two decades.

Long before Bonnie Legion existed, I was Sounds Like Shavon, writing raw acoustic singer-songwriter material. Over the years that world expanded into electronic music, rock, experimental music, hip-hop collaborations, dance music, acoustic work, improvisation and just about every strange musical road that caught my attention. I have never been particularly interested in staying inside one genre. That's probably why I've called myself a California Chameleon for so long.

My musical life eventually became a massive independent catalog—thousands of songs and recordings created over the years, hundreds of official releases, collaborations with producers and musicians around the world, and hundreds of music videos and visual pieces. Some songs reached record labels, some reached streaming platforms, some became albums, some became collaborations, and some were simply moments I needed to get out of myself before they disappeared.

Through all of it, one thing remained consistent: I create.

Music has become something like a diary of my life. Instead of writing everything into a book, I have written much of my life into songs. And somehow, after all these years and all this music, I am still finding completely new places to go.

That is where Makis entered the story.

Meet Makis Gibs

Makis Gibs is the artist name of Prodromos Paradeisopoulos, a Greek guitarist, composer, engineer and collaborative arranger born in Giannitsa, Greece. Makis has one of those backgrounds that immediately helps explain why his music sounds the way it does.

His professional life is in medical equipment engineering, specializing in Pathology Anatomy, with extensive knowledge of electronics, circuitry, 3D design and animation. That engineering mind crossed directly into his musical life. Makis has used his electronics background to modify and customize instruments and was involved in the co-design of the Vibejoin series of guitars and basses, protected by international patents.

Underneath all that technical knowledge is an improvisational musician. For the last several years, Makis has been building what is essentially a musical diary on YouTube—live-looping electric guitar improvisations, experiments, textures, melodies and musical landscapes. His sound moves between traditional electric-guitar tones and much more unusual territory, including digital synthesis through equipment such as the Roland VG-99.

His philosophy is a wonderful summary of how he approaches music:

Technical precision is the key to creative freedom.

And then somehow this extremely technical Greek engineer/guitarist crossed musical paths with a highly instinctive California songwriter who has spent much of her life throwing emotion at microphones until something interesting happens. 😂

Apparently that combination works.

Two Very Different Ways of Creating

This is one of my favorite things about our collaboration. Makis and I often approach music from completely different directions. He can understand a sound technically. I tend to understand it emotionally. He builds musical architecture. I walk into it and start looking around.

Many of these songs began with Makis simply improvising on guitar. No lyric. No conventional song structure. No instructions telling me what I was supposed to hear. I would listen, and something would appear—a phrase, an image, a feeling, a character, sometimes an entire world.

I would begin writing and singing into his improvisation. Sometimes I knew where I was going; other times I absolutely did not. Then the music could travel back across the world again, with Makis reshaping guitars, production and arrangements around what the vocal had become.

On several tracks my husband, Brian Grass, also became an important part of that process through bass guitar, production assistance and mixing.

So these songs were not necessarily constructed in the traditional order of write song → arrange song → record song. Sometimes it was closer to:

sound → feeling → improvisation → words → song → reconstruction → discovery

That process became the DNA of Re-Imagine Me Within.

Why “Re-Imagine Me Within”?

There is a thread running through this entire record: identity, change, attachment, consciousness, love, loss, fear, freedom, technology, human connection, darkness and light. The strange experience of being alive and trying to understand what exactly we are doing here.

The title Re-Imagine Me Within became bigger than one song. For me, it describes the process of looking inward and realizing that transformation isn't always about becoming somebody else. Sometimes it is about seeing what was already there differently.

Some of these songs look at the things we carry. Some look at the things we release. Some question the stories we've been handed. Some wander into consciousness, spirituality and the mystery of experience itself. Some simply follow a guitar into another world.

The 13 Tracks

1. Gravity — A song about connection across distance—the strange invisible pull between two people and the reminder that underneath the machinery of modern life we are still human beings capable of being moved.

2. Tiny Constellations — One of the songs closest to my heart. It's about realizing that nothing we have genuinely loved is completely wasted. People, places, relationships and former versions of ourselves leave little sparks behind. We don't have to carry the chains to carry the light. We can stitch those pieces together into our own tiny constellations.

3. Leave The Light On — A song about learning the difference between loving someone and believing you have to save them. Sometimes love isn't carrying another person across the river. Sometimes it's standing on your own side and leaving a light on.

4. I Can Thank The Cup — Gratitude without imprisonment. You can appreciate what something gave you and still recognize that you have outgrown it. You don't have to hate the room to walk through the door.

5. Bridge Between Us — In a world filled with labels, arguments, algorithms, borders and reasons to divide ourselves, what still connects us? Can we build something between darkness and morning? Can we meet there?

6. Inside of You and Me — A reflection on the possibility that the light we spend so much time searching for outside ourselves may have been living within us all along.

7. Sophia — A song about sensitivity without self-erasure. Feeling deeply does not require surrendering yourself. Compassion does not require becoming responsible for everyone else's wounds. Sophia sees. Sophia feels. But Sophia also learns to stand.

8. The Part They Cannot Name — One of the more philosophical pieces on the record. We can measure the brain, follow electrical signals, study atoms and explain biological processes, and yet there remains the extraordinary first-person fact that somebody is here experiencing all of it. This song lives inside that question.

9. Dunes of the Silver Palace — Born from one of Makis's extended improvisations, the desert, the Poet and the Silver Palace became symbols for impermanence, creativity and awareness. Sometimes the palace isn't a destination. Sometimes the palace is awareness itself.

10. Long Horizon Drive — A neon road song, part science fiction and part inner journey. Cities, machines, highways, old guitars and a traveler moving toward a distant horizon only to discover that the road may have been leading inward the entire time.

11. Burn Me — Raw instinct. Heat. Desire. Ancient feeling. Less explanation and more fire.

12. Grey Lines Inside My Heart — A song about choosing honesty over the appearance of enlightenment. I don't want perfection. I want real—real anger, real wounds, real questions, real love, real human beings.

13. Re-Imagine Me Within — The place where many of the album's ideas collide: nature, consciousness, grief, wonder, humanity, creation, division, hope and the possibility of beginning again. Not by erasing everything that came before, but by transforming our relationship to it.

Do it all again. Begin. Re-imagine me within.

The Visual World

Music has never been only audio for me. I am deeply involved in creating the visual worlds around my songs as well. Many songs from this project already have original videos and visual pieces, combining filmed performance footage, photography, digital art, traditional video editing and newer AI-assisted visual tools.

Sometimes that means a simple performance. Sometimes it means floating through black space. Sometimes it means driving through a neon future. Sometimes it means walking into a desert palace that never existed anywhere except inside a guitar improvisation and our imaginations.

That's one of the things I love about being an independent artist. We don't have to wait for somebody to give us a giant film budget before we're allowed to imagine something enormous.

We can simply start creating.

More Than an Album

After so many years of making music, I think what excites me most is that I can still surprise myself. I've written thousands of songs, collaborated across countries, genres and generations of technology, and watched the music industry change around me again and again.

And still, a guitarist thousands of miles away can play something I have never heard before. I can press play. A sentence appears in my head. I walk toward it. And suddenly there is another world.

That is still magic to me.

Maybe that's really what Re-Imagine Me Within is about. Not becoming someone completely different. Not erasing the past. Not pretending darkness doesn't exist. But taking everything—the beautiful parts, painful parts, strange parts, people we've loved, things we've lost, mistakes, questions, technology, distance, scars and songs—and discovering that we can still create something new from them.

Something neither one of us could have made alone.

13 songs. Two artists separated by thousands of miles. One strange musical conversation.

Thank you to everyone who has listened to these songs while they were being born, commented on the videos, shared the music, encouraged us and followed these strange little worlds as they appeared.

And a huge thank you to Makis for continuing to send sound across the ocean and giving me new places to wander.

We're still creating. We're still learning. We're still changing.

And apparently we're still finding tiny constellations in the dark. 🖤
