I hope it's useful to you and that you make good use of it, especially if you like experimenting with photography and filters. More than 10 years ago, we all filled our phones with filter apps, and little by little they fell behind thanks to many social networks adding their own effect cameras. Currently I'm practically not using any social network, but I do still take many photos that I share here, on my blogs. I normally edit photos from my phone with Snapseed, a very complete and free application, but lately I wanted a camera that would add effects from different old cameras to my photos just by shooting and being able to instantly see the effect without complicating myself with adjustments.

Espero que les sea útil y le saquen buen provecho, en especial si les gusta experimentar con la fotografía y los filtros. Hace más de 10 años todos llenábamos nuestros teléfonos con aplicaciones de filtros, y poco a poco fueron quedando atrás gracias a que muchas redes sociales agregaron sus propias cámaras de efectos. Actualmente no estoy usando prácticamente ninguna red social, pero sí sigo haciendo muchas fotos que comparto por aquí, en mis blogs. Normalmente edito las fotos desde mi teléfono con Snapseed, una aplicación muy completa y gratuita, pero últimamente deseaba una cámara que agregara efectos de distintas cámaras antiguas a mis fotos con solo disparar y poder visualizar al instante el efecto sin complicarme con ajustes.
The search for this perfect app led me to download about a dozen apps, but all or most of them required monthly subscriptions, and personally, spending money on something I would only use on a few occasions was not the goal. After several tests, I came across Kapi Cam, an app that, from its description, promised to emulate old cameras on a phone; the truth is, it surprised me in a good way.
La búsqueda de esta aplicación perfecta me llevó a descargarme alrededor de una decena de aplicaciones, pero todas o la mayoría pedían suscripciones mensuales y, en lo personal, no era el objetivo gastar dinero en algo que solo usaré en algunas ocasiones. Después de varias pruebas di con Kapi Cam, una aplicación que desde la descripción prometía emular cámaras antiguas en el móvil; la verdad, me sorprendió para bien.
Kapi Cam is not a completely free app; to be honest, the best settings are paid or available through the membership, but it does deliver in one thing: it gives unique and realistic effects from a large number of old cameras and even phones. It also has the option to record videos of different durations using the selected effect. All in real time; we can directly see what the final result will be, plus the bonus of enabling/disabling timestamps, device information, and other parameters, even the zoom sound emulating the current camera.
Kapi Cam no es una aplicación totalmente gratuita; para ser honestos, los mejores ajustes son de pago o a través de la membresía, pero sí cumple en algo: da efectos únicos y realistas de una gran cantidad de cámaras e incluso teléfonos antiguos. Además, tiene la opción de grabar videos de distinta duración utilizando el efecto seleccionado. Todo en tiempo real; directamente podremos ver cómo será el resultado final, además del plus de activar/desactivar marcas de tiempo, información del dispositivo y otros parámetros, incluso el sonido del zoom emulando la cámara actual.
Upon entering the main screen, we'll find the three capture options: Video, Photo, and Live. In the lower left, as usual, is the last photo from our camera roll, and what does change is the lower right, where we'll have a small icon with the device we're emulating; through it we'll access the other cameras and devices. Other options include the flash, available on all devices even if it wasn't present on the original; the timer, light adjustment, dimensions, guides, as well as skin-smoothing and blur elements, which are also available.

En la parte inferior izquierda, como es costumbre, está la última foto de nuestro carrete, y lo que sí cambia es la parte inferior derecha, donde tendremos un pequeño icono con el dispositivo que estemos emulando; a través de él accederemos a las demás cámaras y dispositivos. Otras opciones son el flash, disponible en todos los dispositivos aunque en el original no estuviese presente; el temporizador, el ajuste de la luz, las dimensiones, las guías, así como elementos de suavizado de piel y desenfoque, también están disponibles.
Another important section of this app is that we can import our images taken with other applications and apply different effects from the different available devices to them, as well as edit image effects, add timestamps, and device details. Especially useful for making Polaroid-style images in just a few steps, but my favorites are still Super 8 and Mini8.
Otro apartado importante de esta aplicación es que podemos importar nuestras imágenes tomadas con otras aplicaciones y aplicarles distintos efectos de los distintos dispositivos disponibles, así como editar efectos de la imagen, agregar marcas de tiempo y detalles del dispositivo. Especialmente útil para hacer imágenes estilo Polaroid en pocos pasos, pero mis favoritos siguen siendo Super 8 y Mini8.
But what I enjoy most is taking videos, pushing the effects to the limit, like this butterfly's fluttering captured using a fisheye lens and an old VHS camera effect.

Nothing more special than a spider web bathed in dew, and this worn and old-washed effect makes it look even more nostalgic.
