Get Featured on Steemit.com!

get featured.jpg

We’re excited to announce an open process for applying to be Featured on steemit.com. We want to bring as much positive attention to great projects and content creators as possible. To that end we have created the following framework which is intended to minimize the work required on your end, while ensuring that your content is optimized for being Featured on steemit.com and enjoying the maximum benefit from that position.

TL;DR

Follow the format below and submit your copy at least 7 days prior to the day on which you would like to be Featured.

Format

Featured posts should be short, sweet and to the point. They should have roughly 3 sections that each serve an important purpose.

Section 1: The Steem Audience

The whole point of featuring content on steemit.com is to maximize its impact for the Steem audience. That’s why we recommend starting off with a brief paragraph that explains why your offering (whether it’s a new feature, competition, incentive program, etc.) adds, or has already delivered, unique value to the Steem blockchain ecosystem and its users.

E.g. “Thanks to this new feature, Steemians will enjoy an entirely new capability that increases their opportunities while decreasing their exposure to volatility.”

Section 2: Your User Base

Obviously your users are your #1 priority which is why we recommend that the second section in the post be dedicated to highlighting how Steem integration has added unique value for them.

Section 3: Call-to-Action

The final section should be your call-to-action where you encourage anyone consuming your content to perform an action which ultimately benefits your project, for example by visiting your website or promoting your project.

Grammar and Syntax

Featured posts are the most visible posts on all of steemit.com so we want to ensure that readers (for whom this might be their first exposure to steemit.com) are left with a positive impression of the site and its Featured content. For that reason, we request that your Featured post be reviewed for grammatical and syntactical errors before it is submitted for review.

We know you’ve probably got all kinds of information you want to expose people to, so you should feel free to insert links and references to this content while remaining within this format.

Application Process

Once you have done all of the above, e-mail a copy of the article to andrarchy@steemit.com at least 1 week prior to the time you would like to be featured. Please bear in mind that conforming to this process is a prerequisite for being featured, not a guarantee. We won’t be able to Feature every piece of content that is submitted, but we will do our best to provide feedback when beneficial.

This content is very helpful for beginners. it also helps to build a good reputation on steemit.com ..

  • @nassifelias(61)· 2523d

Amazing post @steem.marketing. Any news about the chart of steemit ? Is his price going to increase back again ?

  • @mikebluehair42(55)· 2524d

WE THE Creators of all the content on this platform are the ones that bring the value to it, without us this platform would be nothing But a bunch of programming geeks giving each other a circle jerk. Why should we… Jump through hoops to be featured here?

  • @felix.herrmann(71)· 2524d

step in the right direction. thx.

  • @azfix(65)· 2524d

Looks like a decent way to get some more diversity featured on the front page. I am still using the fingers crossed method for now. 😊

  • @achi1199lles(48)· 2527d

I like it, i stay tuned and i will get hand on it soon. Thanks for sharing

  • @planetenamek(64)· 2527d

What a shitty idea. This is really ridiculous.

And already why the display of trending on Mozilla is not the same on Chrome? Get your fingers out of your asses before you want to do anything else.

  • @ishikakataria(25)· 2527d

I'm new here, like very new so after reading some of the comments I figure this is another way of getting featured and some of them aren't happy with it. But why? Can someone please elaborate? Thanks

  • @awesomianist(65)· 2528d

Good step forward in taking more control of your platform. Of course, i hope the Steemit.inc team's discretion still plays a major role in deciding if a post gets featured and not just "following due procedures".

So far, featured posts have been largely helpful for me in getting know what's happening on the platform. Keep up the good work.

  • @dcanthonyj(25)· 2528d

    Muy interesante

  • @stellabelle(76)· 2528d

This is actually a good idea.

  • @gamaloo(29)· 2528d

    Excellent you did it

  • @nextgen622(76)· 2528d

How about a cost to submit a featured post. The cost Steem/SBD would then be burnt, or it could be refunded for exceptional posts that enhances Steem.

  • @papilloncharity(83)· 2528d

@steem.marketing Bookmarked this and thank you for this great new venture. Hopefully it will draw many new sign-ups. And a bonus is that the free submissions will also elicit many current steemians to submit value posts. A win-win situation.

    Blessings!

  • @mattclarke(71)· 2528d

Nice. I could use this to spread the word about my Path of Exile Hardcore races. #poecomp.

  • @exxagerator(39)· 2528d

that is nice and a good way to promote the good post here. But if I want my post that i already posted can it be featured on or not. thanks

  • @jonathanr1994(39)· 2528d

I've just did my get featured post and have sent an e-Mail of the copy via the address provided for next Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully my channel and that post will be shown next weekend.

  • @ausbitbank(74)· 2528d

I'm conflicted about this - featuring posts and bypassing the stake-weighted voting system feels like a step backwards for #newsteem.

    • Why hold SP and attempt to trend when you can just contact Steemit Inc and be featured instead ?
    • Is there a cost to be featured ?
    • Are you thoroughly investigating new projects that ask to be featured - so we don't have (seemingly) "officially endorsed" featured posts for the next dlive or SBI ponzi scheme pinned ?
    • Do you now consider the featured posts function as another form of advertising to be sold ?

Featuring the occasional network-wide status update, or major development/fork news is one thing.. Opening it up to whoever asks nicely is another. Please don't overdo this.

  • @gandhibaba(75)· 2528d

This is surely a right step in the right direction. Things are getting amazing by the day.

  • @kingscrown(82)· 2529d

its a problem. for example the 2 big actions ive runned here on steemit - community action for Binance and Huobi. it was important to post as first not wait a week. yet those would need this system.

so while i understand the 7 days preparation, some situations need faster time. imagine if peoipel started voting after 7 days from my finds.

  • @michealb(67)· 2529d

    Cool, pick me!

  • @rosepac(55)· 2529d

What should be done is to allow the external vote to steemit. To favor people who do not have people who follow them within Steemit, where the public is small.

I have people who follow me on Twitter and Facebook; On the other hand, Steemit's audience ignores me. This makes my work in steemit ridiculous and I never benefit from it.

  • @jodac(32)· 2529d

I like the idea, i'm not a writer but it certainly helps me a lot to become one. Nice job!

  • @endless.drugs(66)· 2529d

    .

  • @paullifefit(56)· 2529d

I actually like the format you presented, a 3 paragraph snappy educational piece, that ends with a call to action.

We should write to our blogs in this fashion a lot more I’m thinking!? As well as end of week summaries or introductory pieces that naturally take longer.

Great post! I feel the hugs from this community more and more 😄👍🏻

  • @digitalcontent(29)· 2529d

This is a great positive step for the community.

  • @goldmatters(75)· 2529d

Can you explain how to submit an application ?

Do we draft a steemit post? Or a word document?

  • @uyobong(78)· 2529d

How about penning a suggestion to either steemit Inc or any project on Steem?
