The sight of a peacock brings joy to me. The bright, iridescent blues and greens of a peacock create an instant sensory delight. Many traditions view the peacock as a symbol of grace, good fortune, and protection against negative energy. But sighting a peacock is not so easy things in India. Either you will get to see it in any biological park or in a green open spaces. Visiting a zoo for just sighting a peacock is not a mindful act. And finding a peacock in open spaces is rare. But on my recent visit to Rameshwar, I luckily comes across a peacock venturing in open along with their fellow friends.
There were many crows and in between, I found the magificient gift of nature. The stunning beauty was handsomely feeding on earth particles. Seeing me he like to walk off gracefully. But the beautiful creatures already caught my attention. I was trying to get a closer look. But the moment I try to get near, he like to walk away.
The bird is carrying a long tail of feather in his back. What looks like a giant tail is actually a set of elongated feathers growing from the bird's back just above the true tail. While the long tail looks attractive to any eye, it primarily use to attract female peahens during the mating season. The nature is amazing and rhis is anteater example.
I was hoping to see the peacock dancing. When peacock dance they spread their feather and makes waves. It used to be a stunning visuals of their coloeful feather. I never seen them, and I was expecting this peacock to danxe. But the weather was not suitable for it. But soon I saw the peacock dancing. I was following it and it was fruitful.
After following it for a while, the peacock walk away into isolation. The crows too followed it and in no time it vanishes in the wilderness.
In our culture, the peacock is linked to deities like Lord Krishna (who wears its feather on his crown) and Lord Kartikeya, symbolizing grace, devotion, and divine protection. I admire the natural beauty. And happy to see the peacock in open habitat.
