Practical Magic 2
The Owens sisters return, united to face a dark curse that threatens to tear their family apart. This is the official synopsis. Is it worth watching?

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman star in it, so even if you watch it at home, it's worth it just for these two.
It's aimed more at fans of the first movie.
It has tender moments and a certain warmth.
The pacing is good.
The element of "dark" magic is interesting.
Nostalgia is definitely present.
The house by the lake is impressive.

I think its biggest problem is the uninspired screenplay and the rather flat story overall.
I'd even call it an unnecessary sequel, made purely for commercial reasons. That's the impression I got.
It could have been shorter. You could easily cut 20 minutes of unnecessary scenes.
Even though it's a movie about witches, it doesn't have enough magical elements to really keep you engaged.
The new characters are borderline uninteresting. You don't really care about them.
The villain is pretty conventional, which makes him uninteresting as well.
Ghosts of Mars (2001)
The year is 2176, and the planet is Mars. Humans have colonized the Red Planet, rich in mineral deposits. Absolute terror invades their lives when an entire army from an ancient Martian civilization emerges with murderous intentions. Police Lieutenant Melanie Ballard and notorious criminal James "Desolation" Williams join forces to stop the plans of the Martian invaders. Is it worth watching?

It has that B-movie aesthetic which, over the years, I think has become downright cult. It was released in 2001.
The soundtrack was interesting.
Jason Statham in his younger days.
The central concept was interesting, at least in theory.
If you're a fan of gore, you won't be disappointed.
A guilty pleasure? Maybe!

One actor is more talentless than the next. Jason Statham somehow manages to hold his own. 😅
Who kept casting Ice Cube in movies? 😎
The special effects are very poor, but the worst part is how obvious it is.
The screenplay is utterly ridiculous and over-the-top, although that's not necessarily a bad thing for some viewers.
The production design is bad.
Not one of John Carpenter's best directorial efforts.
The uninspired dialogue gets tiresome.
The characters are poorly developed.
