When are we over the hill?
When is too late to achieve big things?
Who bloody decides this stuff?
I'm sure I don't bloody know!
I'll tell ya something though, If I ain't dead, I ain't done, and I'm definitely not dead!
What about YOU?
(Oh man I need some new images! next time, I promise!)
I came close a couple of times, but I talked that to death here already, so not gonna bore ya with the details again.
I am not here so much these days, much of the lustre of Hive was lost quite some time ago, however as I made some great connections here and met some pretty damn cool people, I will never be gone entirely and look forward to popping back and checking in occasionally.
In answer to my Hive friend Mike, getting my first ever post zeroed, would not be a sufficient reason to stay away indefinitely... In fact, if anything, I think I should get some kind of badge or flag on my @Hivebuzz profile, surely that is some kind of achievement, first zeroed post in my 9th year, right?
I never gave a crap about the idea of making money here, so the loss of a few pennies was never gonna drive me away completely.
FYI If there is a way of trading my Hive in for a million dollars/pounds or two, I will NOT refuse the offer π
I turned 54 a few days ago, I had been anticipating the day, because although I could not care less about birthdays and the erroneous checkpoint they present us with, I had ironically, or maybe that should be hypocritically used the date as a metaphorical checkpoint to seriously pursue several of my ambitions all at once. While I am still not dead!!!
Where there's hope, there's life, right?
RIGHT???
Oh, I gotta believe that to be true, let it be true, pleeeeaase, let it be true!
Nah! Just kidding, I DO believe it, wholeheartedly, completely, with every fibre of my being!
What else are we here for?
A tree will spread it's roots as far as it can, grow as high as it can. It certainly isn't constrained by self-doubt, fears and limiting beliefs.
So why the hell should I be?
I ain't gonna bore you with all the details of my plans and aspirations, I have done that far too many times here in the past. Some of the line items are exactly the same ones I had for as many years as I can remember.
I may well stop by and share my progress, victories, failures and learnings, but it will be a case of sharing/showing what I have done, am doing, rather than flapping my gums and telling you how great it is all gonna be.
Late 2026 / early 2027, will be "Show, don't tell!"
If I'm gonna be so busy, active, potentially successful, why come share the journey/progress?
Is it for people hear to tell me how fabulous I am, how clever, resilient and resourceful? To bow before me, a paragon of virtues aside from mere mortals?
Ahahaha Not a bloody chance, I never handled praise very well anyway A myriad of therapists nod knowingly in unison.
I do/did always have a yearning to show others they are not too old, it's not too late, sometimes folks need permission to go do something out of the ordinary, to try and achieve something they assume was resigned to the past stack of old failure notices marked:
Deadline passed...
Some of my impending plans centre around exactly that.
Creating a grey haired army of oldies to carry out my bidding until eventually I am evil ruler of the entire univeeeeerse Muhaahahahaaaaahahahaha... cough... ahahaha... cough cough cough...
Oh, sorry, my mind ran away with me for a moment... Where was I?
Ah yes, I was reminding you that if you have nagging thoughts about something you should definitely do, even though you have started thinking it's too late... It isn't!
So what if you don't reach the thing you see in your mind's eye, what if it's not what you thought, what if it isn't even something you even want anymore, once you start moving towards it?
So what!
At least you won't die wondering.
Also, there is something about striking out, having a go that creates new horizons we never even thought about in our life that lead us somewhere else altogether... Just follow, see where it takes you, have an adventure!
Here's the thing.
I left a piece of me behind in the past, likely lots of pieces of me, (certainly a sizeable piece of my pancreas!!! π€ π±π€£)
I wholeheartedly expect to have a much shorter life than I was going to have, maybe considerably shorter due the health issues I have suffered.
But the length of the game is not nearly as important as the spirit in which it is played!
Oh man, I hope I just created that quote rather than remember it from the filing cabinet in my mind!!!
If a dying pancreas couldn't stop me, if sepsis couldn't stop me if 2 months of hospital food could not finish me off, my own bloody negative image, fears and uncertainty are certainly not gonna achieve it!
I need some brand new images for my next post! (I've aged!)
