Hey man, one last last favor.

Can you sell for hive or ideally send to @null the gifu on vaultoffire? You can use the pool to sell and ray will get a handsome amount of hive if you don't wish to take the null route

We doing a fresh start and wish to give everyone a fair chance after ray told everybody to dump all the tokens including gifu.

    Thanks!

P.S please do the same (whatever option you go for ) for the 3 million gifu on @gifufaithful !

It says a lot about you as a person to go and downvote random new introduction posts just because you can't get your way.

Have heard a lot of not so nice things about you from others the past couple days as well, pretending to not understand and disagree for greed can only take you so far. Good riddance.

Marky isn't downvoting for selfish reasons. Anyone who says so, needs to see both sides of coin.

People can argue that his downvotes r good or bad but they ain't for direct financial gains.

My project also got downvoted but I changed how it works although downvotes ain't stopped yet but they will after I show continued behaviour changes.

I didn't wrote a post about it. Instead it's my first ever comment about this matter. My project was downvoted and my reaction was, anyone can upvote and downvote and the sum of + - is what we get. That's it. That's how this system is built. Call it a fight or a balance it's upto people. The code don't care about sentiments of anyone, nor u, me or marky. We r equal for the code.

My project @hivepakistan was downvoted and I don't blame @themarkymark for it. It's just how the code works. He can keep doing what he is doing and I won't hate him as a person.

(I have my own arguments how, why, when etc.... but code don't see any of that. We need to understand the code to have clarity of how hive works. If we don't like it, we can find other alternatives.)

Why do people forget that rewards are a sum of upvotes and downvotes? Shouldn't people have the same right to downvote like they have the right to upvote? The stigma related to downvotes is soo strong that I fear people will assume wrong things about hivepakistan which r incorrect just because of a negative emoji. But other than the stigma downvotes bring and the problems it will cause me in onboarding, guilding, mentoring.... I don't see any reason of how such downvotes makes hive good or bad. When I joined hive, I knew everything of how it works. It's like signing TOS of a platform and then complaining when we r on the other end.

I am not a victim, I am an example of how the system works. Victim mentality can be changed with right educational material.

  • What a catastrophe, you guys are some of the most energetic, friendly and dedicated builders here on HIVE and it saddens me to see you leave. !BBH

  • @alex-rourke(74)· 388d

I'm sorry to see you come to this conclusion. You guys are great musicians, humans, creators and citizens of this corner of the interwebs. As @crimsonclad often says

"Where people gather, economies are formed."

Which is why I choose to stick around. I think there's a great opportunity to exchange value for value with some pretty incredible people around here.

    Crimmy also says (I'll paraphrase):

"Whenever you put humans in one place, they'll be sure to human all over it."

In the apartment building, on your block, in the company, in congress, on a train, in the rain, on a boat, with a goat... humans will human here and there, humans will human everywhere!

    Even on Hive.

There will be people on HIVE you don't see eye to eye with and there's even the possibility that you will make some enemies.

I'm sorry if you had a bad experience.

The way I see it, HIVE is one piece of a larger freedomverse with tools like Litecoin, Dash, Digibyte, NOSTR... and more to be discovered. Use some of those tools interchangeably, use them in conjunction, replace some, adopt others.

See you around the freedomverse; We'll meet again.

  • @uwelang(79)· 388d

Guys - just stumbled over this discussion - i have major real life problems I have to follow/handle but this got my attention especially as of my Hive anniversary.

I have no clue or background what really happened here - I can just say please find a solution in civil manner and DO NOT DRIVE away more great guys from Hive please. @stickupboys always did great stuff, content, engagement etc - no idea about relation to @risingstar2 game or abusing anything (many big players do that without penalty).

What made me most sad in the comment section that @steevc gets into a position to be attacked as he defends great people - he does not deserve that - probably one of the top 3 community members of this entire community. Fighting for other friends in the community is great and what makes a community.

There might always be different opinions and preference - but I doubt the boys do something bad by intention.

I support things @acidyo is doing re Posh, I also understand @themarkymark usually (sometimes I disagree with his DVs but can not do a lot but he is often accessable and open to change in such cases which I much appreciate - many hate him I know, many hate acid I know, many hate me but that is fine - have not that power to counter a lot when big boy are acting).

But let us see the community, small and pretty engaged - i know protecting reward pool and fighting spam is important but in that case i do not know why to be honest. Even if someone made mistake maybe give people a chance - we do not have that massive community yet and if we drive away again good members this is shit!

If I can help in mediating let me know. But please find a good solution.

Hi @stickupboys I love Hive, I love Rising Star even though I haven't played in a while, and I love your gifs. I agree that Hive isn't perfect, but in my opinion, it's the best decentralised social media option out there.

Hive isn't perfect, but it's a DPoS: staking, freedom of voting, and the absence of censorship, upvotes, and downvotes are its strengths, in my opinion.

Your post would have been more useful if you had included links to the posts that were downvoted: that way, everyone could have evaluated them for themselves, and I could have given you my personal opinion.

As for second-level token-based projects, I have supported many projects over the past six years, and my Hive wallet contains many tokens that are worth 0 and few tokens that have value after so many years since their creation.

Many of these tokens are worth 0 because the creator has disappeared or because the only real attraction of the token was an upvote = Hive was the real value, not the token.

This is to say that many projects collapsed not because of downvotes, but because they lived almost exclusively on automatic upvotes linked to delegations or tokens. If a project relies solely on the reward pool, perhaps Hive has more value than the project itself?

I don't know the dynamics of the projects you mentioned, so I'm not referring to them.

Hive has many strengths and utilities, but in my opinion, it also has some critical issues:

    • many DHF proposals approved without solid plans and clear KPIs
    • few whales, few projects and few manual curators who read and vote on posts manually
    • lack of a shared, visible or easily accessible tutorial on what can be subject to downvotes: it is not easy to create one because there are no formal rules, as each stake votes freely, but there could be a solution.
    • cases such as HSBI, tolerated because they are too widespread but which create the perception of double standards and double criteria.
    • Complex registration and a learning curve that is not easy at first
    • A new user does not know what is recommended to do and what is not

By nature, I am more oriented towards moderation and constructive discussion, and I like to try to find even partial solutions to conflicts

I don't know if it's technically easy to implement, but I would like to see a guide for new and existing users that does the following:

    • Automatically sends one or more comments or a guide to a new user containing advice and, above all, a detailed explanation of the actions that are most likely to receive a downvote:
    • circle vote = voting with two accounts in a cycle = high probability of downvotes and blacklisting
    • creation of a project that receives delegations in exchange for votes = high probability of downvotes
    • 100% AI posts = high probability of downvotes
    • low effort posts = probability of downvotes due to reduced rewards if high
    • etc. etc. etc.

The only section that explains downvotes is at https://hive.blog/faq.html#Does_a_downvote_mean_that_I_did_something_wrong, and it is not easy to find or access for a new user, especially if they joined Hive through a front end other than hive.blog.

    image.png

A project like this would have concrete positive effects: it would reduce misunderstandings, prevent users acting in good faith either out of ignorance or because they have had negative experiences with other social web3 sites from being targeted by downvotes, make joining Hive easier and more transparent, and perhaps transform some potential conflicts into opportunities for community growth.

What do you think @stickupboys @acidyo @hivewatchers and @themarkymark? Would it be useful or is my idea impractical? Is there a developer who could implement it, perhaps by proposing a DHF?

I'll conclude with you, stickupboys. You are a resource on Hive, and I hope you stay on Hive. In my opinion, even though Hive has its flaws, it is the best place to be in web3.

    hugs

  • @ecoinstant(78)· 388d

Okay but why are you now downvoting my MOON Universe 2 announcement post?

    https://peakd.com/hive-185582/@ecoinstant/moon-2-to-the-end-of-the-universe

  • @tydynrain(74)· 388d

I'm so sad to read this. I love and believe in Hive, and I've been all-in for the last almost 4 years, but I've seen so many amazing people and projects leave Hive (usually for Blurt) because of abusive downvoting. Downvoting, and downvote trails, where there is no communication as to the reason, is abuse from my perspective. This is the one really big glaring reason that Hive won't be able to grow into its full potential until this issue is resolved. Every downvote must require a reason to be given, and there needs to be some kind of community oversight to review, and when necessary, nullify obviously abusive votes.

I very deeply appreciate what you brought and gave to Hive, and you will be missed, my friend. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

  • @buttcoins(75)· 388d

Damn, thanks for all the great GIF-ories. You will be missed! I still have hope for the chain…but the cracks are impossible to ignore.

  • @djbravo(75)· 388d

It is not easy to succeed on this platform and we are seeing that only those people who have a lot of investments are successful and I have been working for the last three years and am promoting this platform everywhere in my city.

  • @pompeylad(50)· 388d

Hive is broken, Ive been here a few years observing and the sad fact is that certain people/entities have too much power...for the most part this is wielded correctly but when it is not it is destructive to this chain and destroys trust. There is a project blowing 1 million a year in dhf funds without oversight yet the small guys are targeted, how does this make sense? Addressing marky and acidyo as the biggest solo players who could change this(besides blocktrades).

  • @acidyo(85)· 388d

Okay so, we've talked in the past about your gifs (if you remember), they're great to get the Hive name/logo out there. (not sure how the backlinks work or if there's any realistic way of determining the traffic they may have generated for hive)

What happened with gifu? Thought it'd be connected to your previous work somehow and try to bridge over to bsc, was hoping it'd have more to it and had some ideas of my own to add but after buying a few mil early on I had to trade it back cause zing needed my hive.

Anyway, to further respond to some of your comments on your post. The freecompliments community was never touched by anyone as far as I know, in and of itself it has a good idea behind it, mental health is important, even more so online and definitely on another level on hive at times so a place to discuss and support people discussing and struggling with it would be a community I'd personally wanna support. Similar to how we support many other unique genre communities with @ocd.

What was downvoted however were 5-6 posts of the freecompliments account and the community account who after weeks, posts and many comments purposely continued to literally purchase for profit votes on the posts after months of (subjective here but in my opinion and many others, overrewarded posts all by the same voters through mainly vote buying or quid-pro-quo vote trading on posts with little to no engagement along with the author mainly leaving token command comments and nothing else - this highly overstepped the bounds of being labeled as author reward farming along with vote buying and to top it all off, encouraging the community to purchase votes as well through delegations, hsbi giveaways, and probably a few other things I may not remember at this time.)

I don't downvote lightly, I think freecompliments was one of the few accounts I've zeroed out in 2025 for a short while. My intention was not to chase the person running the account away, kill his community or drive him to autodownvote my posts. Eventually you have to use downvotes to show someone that you mean what you say, if you continue to maliciously go against curation for the benefit of yourself, vote selling services or other schemes at the cost of majority of stakeholders just so you can grow faster than those staying true to the 50/50 blockchain rules split, someone's going to eventually use the tools available to them (downvote mana) to attempt to put a stop to it.

Not many are going to be the ones to step up because doing the downvotes has no benefit to the downvoter, I don't even want to do it most of the time but if we allow these things to flourish and grow then eventually there will be no voting power left for curation and we will be back to the bid bot era before we know it. You can take a look at Steemits trending to see what that looks like.

Now to your next point and probably what drove you to write this post. projects and tokens on hive. You say voting up posts where very little of the post is unique/original but they all somehow magically started getting rewards should be okay because they're using the rewards to prop up a gaming token/nft scarcity of a game on one of hive's sidechain.

My question is, why aren't they doing this on their main accounts? I some times forfeit my rewards towards the development fund of my game, do you know what the difference is?

I don't make a new account specifically telling people that if they vote these posts up I will buy zing with the rewards or burn zing or burn nfts, because you know what that means? it means I'm encouraging holders of said token/nfts to use their hive voting power to vote for these posts for the benefit of this game asset they may be involved in at the cost of hive and at the cost of others having received those votes for something that may bring value to hive, you know, the coin they're voting with.

You're telling them you're going to take value from hive/hbd and place it on the token/game asset. This doesn't benefit all of hive, this only benefits the holders of said token/game assets value and its coming at "no additional cost" to them because voting power recharges daily and has to go out.

Why aren't these accounts asking for delegations or donations instead? Well, I'm sure you know that's harder to receive because then the cost is on the people delegating/donating, not on the rewards pool that we all share.

I suggest for such activities encourage people to donate, delegate, share beneficiaries on posts, etc, but as soon as you overstep by misusing curation (like only voting those giving you beneficiary and ignoring those not donating beneficiaries) you ought to expect others to have a say in it because if affects everyone as you are using the reward pool's inflation towards it.

Businesses can thrive on hive, but they need to respect curation.

@zingtoken does not only vote on delegators while ignoring authors not delegating to them or not holding any zing tokens, it values effort, quality and attention. If there's not a lot of it any given day it does not overreward the few users posting that day because it doesn't want to abuse curation or lure people in with big votes for any and all content of any and all effort as long as it's about the project. It instead spends excess voting power on nonprofit projects such as poshtoken, hbd.funder or buildawhale.

I believe we also talked about your project that would go against a few of the points above. It would only vote for delegators or token holders and ignore everyone else. Similar to that eds project, this creates a bubble where everyone posting and delegating/holding a token receive a big "selfvote/bought vote" whenever they post so naturally what that post is about, the effort behind it, the social activity of the user or the attention that post receives does not matter since both the author and you as the project are profiting off if this exchange and growing faster than accounts/projects not doing the same activity.

It's kind of weird that this is the thing people keep ignoring or playing dumb at, maybe they're just stringing me along at this point and purposely wasting my time but here I am again, wasting my time, caring about curation done right, it being fair for everyone, yet I see some people here in the comments just blindly trusting the people calling it quits because of "bullying" without knowing what it is about and others rushing to defend freecompliments while ignoring the ways he's amassed so much author rewards over the years while you go around complaining that not enough good posts get curated while at the same time fearmongering about downvotes and wanting people to do "whatever they want" with their stake which quite possibly leads to a lot of posts not getting curated, a lot of posts not getting attention/engagement (cause who cares about being socially active if you can just buy votes daily for your post while copypasting 5 shittoken command comments in your community) and distribution of inflation quite literally getting more centralized this way to only those who already have stake and projects that literally feed your own voting power back to you and take a cut of it. Fuckin ell m8

I have no words, Sub. For the few months (kinda like a year now? lol) I have known you you’ve been nothing but an asset. Especially with the value you bring. I hope you can build all you envision somewhere that accepts you.

I’m not really knowledgeable in all these things but I know when things don’t make sense anymore.

  • @namiks(77)· 389d

Regardless of the reason(s), I think we all reach this point of burnout at some point. Take care.

  • @ugochill(66)· 389d

Can't say I know much about what is going, but I'm saddened to read. Especially stuff about Rising Star Game (Hive too in general) as that is one totally genuine project.

    Hugs.

  • @hurtlocker(70)· 389d

There is a lot of moving pieces on Hive and it makes building a business on here very challenging.

Until there are clear rules about what is allowed and what is not I think people will continue to run into the same problems you did.

You will be missed homie! If you do want to chat I’m always down and have enjoyed our conversations!

  • @gillianpearce(67)· 389d

I'm really sorry to see you go but totally get it. I mostly gave up on Hive at the time of the split from Steemit. I found the hypocrisy and "holier than though" sickening so pretty much walked away. I'm still here bewcause of my investment in Splinterlands. Mind you Steemit wasn't much better. I remember being "told off" by a "name" when I was really new and being really upset about it. It was only because of all the great people in the community that supported me that I stuck it out and was glad I did. However, most of those people are long since gone. As you say, it's sad. I was a bit of an idealist when I arrived at Steemit. It took just 8 weeks to see that this was just a reflection of the mainstream and not the ideal I'd seen with my rose coloured glasses. I admire people like Steevc and Shanibeer who are able to do their thing and see the best in it. Will you still be playing RS?

  • @mypathtofire(76)· 389d

Its not a place to build sadly. I would recommend to check out the nostr music community, at least no one can dv and block there. Artists getting discovered and earning for real compared to Spotify. Wavlake

  • @vimukthi(76)· 389d

It is sad to see another good project get affected. Things like this are the reason why HIVE is not doing great despite having the technology and many good people trying to build. Take a look at @leofinance and how they are expanding. INLEO was one of the most attacked projects on HIVE. Yet they brought it more users than anybody on HIVE. There it is better to fight out and build better and stronger communities. You have come this far and there are members that do like what you are doing. The problem is the toxic HIVE Whales.

  • @niallon11(77)· 389d

What about just moving the project to inleo and ignoring the few idiots on hive that don't like change.

You can still have all the same benefits but just no interaction with the downvoters and peakd.

  • @steevc(80)· 389d

I'm very sorry to hear this. I do see some people being bullied into leaving and it's bad for Hive. You have done so much here.

I think you have to decide what is best for you. I just find other social platforms to be crap these days. All they really offer is a big audience, but I realise that is important to many. Hive could be so much more, but a few people spoil it.

  • @memess(63)· 389d

I was thinking like that when i got striked, but in the end most of these downvotes are understandable.

All these shitty "upvote for hsbi posts" or other shitty giveaways dont bring anyvalue to hive and yet suck a part of the inflation same for any type of hive-engine buyback or burn post.
