2026 so far : The evening of sorrow

To be honest, the year 2026 is not going well for me so far. In fact, since I finished my degree, it feels as if I’m surrounded by problems and never ending problems. Moreover, these tensions are keep on amplfyong m everyday. During my time as a student, I never really worried much about earning money. I used to make a little here and there through online platforms like Hive blogging and other blogging platforms but after graduation, my entire life situation changed. My family expected me to have a government sector job and start earning, but that hasn't happened yet because I haven't been able to achieve the high scores. I am not meeting the merit criteria in the tests.

Since the beginning of 2026, I have taken exams for multiple government jobs. Unluckily that i have failed majority of them. And with each failure, my optimistic attitude takes a dive into the river of passimism. Perhaps the only thing I have maintained consistently throughout 2026 is failure. I have failed in the exams miserably.

This Hard Time Shall too Pass

At this moment, a line from a poem by the Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz is jumping into my mind and it always boosts my optimistic point of view towards life, which goes like this: لمبی ہے غم کی شام مگر شام ہی تو ہے "The evening of sorrow is long, but it is, after all, just an evening."

The Phase is difficult, the year was hard and still being tough

but this will pass and a dawn will come

I get motivation from my inner self, from parents, from all those who are holding expectations on me. The one who are praying for me. The one who did magic in my life by encouraging me and by seeing the spark inside me. I am under the gloomy shadow of clouds. I know it's phase of life and i am not discouraged at all. I believe that an element of hardship is essential in life. it teaches a person to value good times and brings valuable lessons. It provides the principles of how to live.

Just as heating gold in a furnace is essential to refine it. In the similar way, facing failure is crucial for a person to achieve success.

I believe I have reached a stage in life where I no longer view failure as a rigid label "Failure". Infact, I see it as an effort, a trial or an attempt that provides me valuable experiences. I learn from it and stay committed to move forward. That has been my guiding principle. So, my motto of 2026 is to keep learning constantly from all the setbacks and never stop.

Committed to achieve goal

It feels as though 2026 has only just begun yesterday and it seems that time is acting as a butterfly( flying quickly with a wink) Well, regardless of every odd of my life, I know that I will work hard during the time that is left behind for 2027 and Insha'Allah i will secure a government job this year. This achievement would makes my parents proud.

Reading your post, it shows that 2026 has been a very challenging year for you; yet, the best part is that you did not lose heart despite facing so many setbacks. I believe that failure teaches us lessons that success simply cannot. Repeatedly failing in government job exams is certainly disheartening, but every attempt makes you better prepared for the next time. Insha'Allah, your hard work, your parents' prayers, and your persistent efforts will surely bear fruit. May Allah grant you success this year and give your parents the opportunity to be proud of you. Just keep moving forward with this same spirit :)

Sometimes, after graduation, life suddenly comes with so many expectations and pressures, and repeated failures can make us question ourselves. But I love how you chose to see those failures as attempts, lessons, and part of the journey rather than letting them define you. The line about the evening of sorrow being long, but still only an evening, is especially beautiful 🌅 I hope the difficult season you’re going through eventually leads you to the dawn you’ve been waiting for. Keep going because your efforts are surely not wasted ❤️
