an early morning walk from the port and up through the historic district here in New Bedford MA

Today I will share some photos from a recent walk I took. I started at the port, and walked up and around the historic district in a sort of loop, then back to the port.
And as I said, I started by the port and took this photo looking down the ramp, just around the corner from where I parked my car, infact I am parked just on the other side of that brick building.

And here I am in the Historic District; I believe the proper name for it is the Whaling City Historic District. Now, I normally head up to this area either after most of the sunrise colors, or on mornings I do not expect to see much in the way of colors, but this morning I had the idea: instead of my normal sunrise photos over the water, why not try to get some in this area.
For this one, I am on North Water Street looking down one of the streets, kind of like this, for something different: a sunrise over the old streets and Belgian blocks, although I still, in my head, think of them as cobblestones.

Now this may not look so interesting, so you may wonder why I walked into the back car park of a building to get this photo. It is the construction site for an extension to the whaling museum, much to the frustration of some of the businesses in the area, as it has closed some streets and slowed down people going to the businesses.
