Monochrome Monday A few cool buildings
Good Morning, I hope you all had a good weekend; mine was the usual nice and quiet, but I did get out for a couple of photo walks :)
Starting the week as is my habit with a few Monochrome Edits, from recent walks, this week I decided to go with a theme of buildings, perhaps because I have found myself taking a lot of photos of cool and historic buildings here in New Bedford recently.
Starting off in the Historic District downtown here, that's how my taking photos of historic buildings here in New Bedford started; the Belgian block streets and old-style lamps for me just make it so photogenic.

And this view I do find cool I often walk here when I head into the historic district. And this photo leads me to think about how I select which photos to edit in Monochrome.
As this street I mostly edit in color, perhaps because the color of the buildings, but this time I decided to go with a Mono edit.
So one part of how I choose I guess is it comes down to my mood at the time. Another reason is I find B&W or Mono edits, ones eyes do not get distracted byt he colors as beautiful as they may be, but ones attention is drawn to the cool details.

Now off the cobblestone streets and walking downtown further I came across these buildings with such cool design
the main building shown was originally built in 1925 as the First National Bank building, the seven-story structure features historic Neoclassical architecture

And this grand building is on County street, a street with many awesome old historic buildings, many of them built for and owned by the Whaling ship captians back in the day.
