I was looking for some horror movies to watch, so I asked AI to name five psychological horror films to choose from. I didn't ask for any plot details to make it a surprise. The first on the list was Hereditary, and yes, I love that movie so much. The next one was something I'd heard of for the first time, so I decided to check it out. It's called ***Barbarian***.

It was night when she arrived at the property, and she unfortunately discovered that a man was already staying there. It was mistakenly double-booked.

Not wanting her to stay out, the guy who was staying at the property, Keith, offered to let her stay with him. He gave him the room as he took the couch.
Although she found him strange at first, they eventually hit it off. However, something strange happened inside the house.

He went to his property to check it since he's planning to sell it. However, he discovered someone was staying there... and that there was something strange going on.
What's the mystery about? Watch the movie to find out!

And I say that in a positive way.
The actors really did their job well. The characters themselves were frustrating because of their personalities and dumbness. It made me feel that the "monster" they were running away from had the best character out of all of them.
I won't be saying a lot about it because it'll give away the story, but you'll understand what I mean once you watch it.
Storywise, it was actually good. I enjoyed the build-up and the tension... although the ending was quite meh, it was still worth watching. It's just a personal opinion because I wanted it to end differently... maybe in a more tragic way JK! I just wanted the truth to be shown to the world, though I'm low-key hoping for a part two. If it were a manga, I'd love for the story to have a special side story to explain why things ended the way they did. However, we can somehow make our own conclusions as well.
Another thing I liked about the film was the sudden cuts, change of story, cut, change of story... and then sewing the pieces together. It wasn't much, but I like that style instead of doing things chronologically.
But as most horror films go, dumb choices after dumb choices... but why not? Without them, there won't be a movie!
I enjoyed the gory part of the movie, too... and when that specific character that I really hated was... (I won't say it)... It was effin' satisfying! I was literally cheering. XD
Anyway, if you're into horror and haven't watched this, I recommend you give it a shot. It's actually pretty entertaining. I'd love to rewatch this with my cousins someday! Maybe during our Christmas horror marathon. LOL
Anyway, I'll end this post here. Thanks for reading and I'll see you on the next one! (^^,)/
