So, someone suitable finally bought one of the kittens. And although I was excited that she found a new home, I miss her now. I keep wondering how she’s doing all by herself in her new home.
The other two are still here, running around as usual, and it makes me wonder if they even notice that their sister is gone. There’s no sign of sadness or confusion among them. They’re just carrying on with their little kitten lives.
Anyway, I hope my little girl is doing well wherever she is. I hope she doesn’t feel too lonely, and more importantly, I hope the people who took her are treating her right.
Clover, the mom, on the other hand, has started showing signs that she doesn’t want to breastfeed the two kittens that are left. This is my first time having a cat with kittens, so I honestly don’t know when mothers usually start weaning their babies.
Thankfully, the kittens are already eating solid food, so I worry less about their health if Clover eventually stops breastfeeding them completely. I did mention on my Facebook page that I was thinking of introducing milk to them, but quite a number of people advised against it because they said it could upset their stomachs.
So, I’m still figuring things out.
But it honestly stings a little watching the kittens go to their mother looking for breast milk, only for her to reject them and walk away.
I just want them to grow into healthy little cats before they eventually find homes.
Someone is coming in three days to get the second female kitten, which means we’ll be left with the male. And because people around here mostly prefer buying female kittens, I know my chances of finding him a home might be slimmer.
But honestly, at this point, what matters most to me is that wherever they end up, they are comfortable, loved and treated well. I don’t want any of them ending up in a home where they’ll be abused or neglected.
That’s all about my kittens.
It’s also been a while since I’ve written anything here. I have several drafts sitting around, but this is the one that has been on my mind the most, so I decided to finally post it.
Work has kept me really occupied lately, and sometimes I feel overwhelmed and frustrated because I barely have the time or energy to edit my posts and put them out here. I’m trying, though. Hopefully, I can find my way back to writing consistently and posting regularly again.
