SCUBA DIVING IN ECUADOR.

651c692b-6d8a-4f1f-92a6-f3a683552eb1.jpeg Hi, Hive! Percy here, I want to tell you about my fun time scuba diving at the beach in Ecuador.

First, my journey from Cuenca. We had to pack and get on a super long bus all the way to Puerto López, and they sold mangos and little sweets on the bus. I had so much mango!

Once we got to Puerto López, me and my sister had to do a PADI e-learning scuba course. It took so long! First, we had to do one step out of 10 steps, and in each of those steps was an essay, and then answer questions, and then do exams. It was so much work! We learned about pressurization chambers and squeezes, nitrogen narcosis, and we completed our PADI e-learning just before having to do our scuba diving test.

For our first test, we went in a pool and had to practice breathing through our oxygen tank, taking off our goggles in case of emergency, and taking off our entire kits.

On our first scuba diving trip, we went down in sort of a bay. At the bottom, there was sand, and then I saw a stingray! We kept going along, and we saw a stonefish, and we also saw a starfish and so many cool fishes. Then we had to practice exercises like sharing air, where I would have to breathe through my sister’s backup, and practiced other cool exercises. Then we came up and got dry, and we went to sleep early that night, ’cause tomorrow we were going deep scuba diving.

First, we had to go on a super long boat ride to Isla de Plata. IMG_1209.jpeg

When we got there, we got our scuba kits ready and went into the water. IMG_1218.jpeg It didn’t look like it was gonna be clear, but then we started going down, and it was so cool! We saw a giant turtle, 651c692b-6d8a-4f1f-92a6-f3a683552eb1.jpeg

d7f4d606-67a1-4655-9be1-728c61a8934d.jpeg I just was swimming along at 18 m deep, and it was so fun. We used two oxygen tanks each, and we went down twice. Oh my goodness, it was amazing! It felt like I was floating, probably the closest I will ever get to being in space, just gliding, swimming, and breathing underwater.

Sadly, though, we had to leave. After we got home, I went fishing. I fished for so many hours, but sadly, I didn’t catch anything. I almost caught a fishy, though. But that was really fun!

And then we went to visit my dad’s friend, @meno. Me and him went fishing with shrimp, and I caught a crab and one fish, and he caught a fish too. They were kind of tiny, but still really fun! IMG_1241.jpeg

Then me and my mom went to Olón, and I did surfing lessons. Sadly, though, we had to leave. We packed up, went to the airport, and got on our plane to the Galápagos Islands.

The end.

I would really love to swim in the sea one day, but I feel like it must be very cold.
