Well Hivers! We are celebrating the release of Mnemorith: Echoes of Eldbriaris.
This project is bold. It is different. And for us, it feels like the culmination of more than a decade of searching, growing, and becoming.
From our street music past to our present as modern bards, we feel that we have arrived at a place that is deeply honest. There were many times over the past ten years when we felt a little lost, moving from opportunity to opportunity, living fully in the moment, yet always searching for something deeper.
We played in the streets. We played on major festival stages. We wrote soundtracks for film. We created live collaborations with hip-hop artists and contemporary dancers. We improvised in packed theatres alongside poets and authors. We built a home within the fantasy festival community, and from that grew our own theatrical programme and Bardeoke sessions with audience participation. We toured with like-minded artists, inviting each other on stage and connecting across cultures. We crossed continents, met people from many walks of life, learned from them, and tried to carry their stories in our melodies.
Through all of that, we slowly found our voice.
Looking back on the last five years in particular, Mnemorith: Echoes of Eldbriaris feels like a natural conclusion to one chapter, and the beginning of another. The story at its heart is deeply personal, even though it is told through the lens of fantasy. Musically, it feels more mature, more focused, and more daring than anything we have done before. In many ways, this album helped us understand our own sound more clearly: progressive folk rock.
Our producer, Christoph Beyerlein, understood what we were reaching for almost immediately. Together, we approached the recording process with the spirit of a 70s rock album, recording most of the record completely live. One of the wildest things about this album is that the violin parts you hear were recorded during those live sessions. There were no later overdubs added after we left the studio. In a time when so much music is built around endless editing and perfection, this felt important to us. We wanted the record to breathe. We wanted it to carry the immediacy of a real performance but still add the polish of modernity.
For the first time, there are also vocals on some of these songs, sung not by guests, but by us. They help carry the narrative and open a new dimension in the sound. At the same time, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome brilliant guest performers into this world: Reikas Tanz, Deloraine, Benni Cellini, Fiddler’s Green, and Hannah Jo Mackinlay. Collaboration and human connection have become such an essential part of who we are that it means a great deal to us to have so many remarkable artists woven into this story.
But perhaps what makes this album most unique is the story at its center.
Following the journey of four characters, Emmerich, Seraphine, Kael, and Saela, the album is set in our own imagined world. It tells the beginning of their hero’s journey as they leave their dying homeland, Eldbriaris, and step into the great unknown in search of answers. The story is fictional, yes, but the humanity of these characters, their fears, choices, and resilience, is drawn in part from real life. We hope that as you listen, you find moments that feel familiar. We hope you recognize pieces of yourselves in these chapters.
And perhaps the most exciting thing about this adventure is that it is not only something new for us. It is only the beginning.
Mnemorith: Echoes of Eldbriaris is the prologue to a much larger story. The album, the book, the narration, and the team behind it were all created as a proof of concept, a way of showing what is possible when vision, trust, and community come together. We poured our hearts, our sweat, and our years of experience into this project because we wanted to prove to ourselves, and to the world around us, that we were ready to take on something this ambitious. That we had grown into it. That our community was ready to walk with us into this story.
And that is why we feel so deeply grateful today.
