A few weeks ago a client asked me to make her an African woman. She is in the process of reconnecting with her essence, with her roots and I understood perfectly what she was transmitting to me.
Immediately a person asks me for an amigurumi, I ask her if she has something in mind or if she already has an image of what she wants. And in this case it didn't take long. My client looked on her cell phone and showed me an image of an amigurumi. It was a woman in a long suit of many colors.
Say no more! That's what she's asking for and that's what I'm going to make her. However, I never imagined how hard it would be to find the yarn. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find the yarn for the dress. Finally when I was almost giving up I went into a store that had a yarn with a shade very similar to the one in the picture. I didn't think much about it. You know that while you are thinking someone else comes in and buys the product.
I really enjoyed the process, because it was the first time I made a woman with curves. That is, the doll has buttocks, breasts and waist. I had a great time weaving the body. Good thing I used a sturdy wire as a skeleton, because the head is the heaviest part of the doll.
Weave the head, then curly hair and a tail. Finally, a bandana that covered all her hair. That head is very heavy and I thought it was going to fall off, but no! The wire saved me.
On the face and accessories I took all my time. Easy. I made her mouth (I hardly ever make amigurumis with mouths), I made ears with earrings. I was looking around and some women wear very tall metal necklaces, so I got to work, as well as the bracelet she wears on her arm. I attached two beaded bracelets.
I made the dress totally fitted to the body and a large flower adorns one shoulder. I really enjoyed it, when I turned her wrist around and her curves were visible. That is luxurious.
Thinking that it is a doll with a lot of work, I decided to look for a base and passed it on to the client, who told me that she had a base and could use it to place the doll on. At this point, I have not delivered it yet. I have to go to a hardware store and find a sturdy plastic tube with a hole in the center to insert the wire that will hold the doll at the waist.
I recently visited a hardware store, but they did not have what I was looking for, so I am in the process of searching again. I will tell you or show you a picture, when I have the doll in its base, ready to go to live with its owner.

Por fin cuando ya casi me estaba dando por vencida entré a una tienda que tenía una lana con un matizado muy parecido al de la foto. No lo pensé mucho. Sabes que mientras uno piensa viene otra persona y compra el producto.
Disfrute mucho el proceso, pues es la primera vez que hago una mujer con curvas. Es decir, la muñeca tiene nalgas, tiene senos y tiene cintura. Goce un mundo tejiendo el cuerpo. Menos mal que coloque como esqueleto un alambre robusto, pues la cabeza es lo más pesado que tiene.
Tejer la cabeza, luego el cabello con rizado y una cola. Finalmente, una bandana que cubría todo su cabello. ¡Esa cabeza es muy pesada y pensé que se iba a caer, pero no! El alambre me salvó.
En el rostro y los accesorios tomé todo mi tiempo. Con calma. Le hice boca (casi no hago amigurumis con boca), le hice orejas con aretes. Estuve revisando y algunas mujeres llevan unos collares muy altos de metal, así que manos a la obra, al igual que el brazalete que lleva en el brazo. Le coloqué dos pulseras en cuentas.
El vestido lo hice totalmente ceñido al cuerpo y una gran flor adorna un hombro. Disfrute mucho, cuando al darle la vuelta a la muñeca se aprecian sus curvas. Eso está de lujo.
Pensando que es una muñeca con bastante trabajo, decidí buscar una base y se lo transmití a la clienta, quien me dijo que ella tenía una base y la podía utilizar para colocar la muñeca. En este momento, todavía no la he entregado. Tengo que ir a una ferretería y buscar un tubo plástico resistente con un hueco en su centro para introducir allí el alambre que sujetará a la muñeca por la cintura.
Hace poco visite una ferretería, pero no tenían lo que buscaba, así que estoy en proceso de búsqueda nuevamente. Ya les contaré o les mostraré una foto, cuando tenga a la muñeca en su base, lista para irse a vivir con su dueña.
