A Code of Honor and Brotherhood.

Returning to the game after a long break, I bought Enzo a new outfit before following Cesare to a secret meeting. There, surrounded by Don Torrisi, Luca, and Tino, Enzo took a sacred blood oath, burned a portrait in his hand, and officially joined the family.

Cesare had been waiting for me for what felt like decades since I took some time coming back to the game. After finally returning, I bought a newer outfit in a different color for Enzo from his very own wardrobe for 500 dinars, figured I needed to spend those dinars I had been collecting on something.

I followed Cesare while he told me to keep following him without saying much else. When Enzo asked what it was all about, Cesare asked him to stop talking and just listen.

We headed into a warehouse, though it looked like we were actually inside the same place where I had collected my gear last time. Luca was already there. Seeing him, Enzo asked what this was about, and Luca told him there was nothing to worry about.

Luca said they were all friends here, suggesting Enzo to walk through that door and listen to the answers carefully. He asked if Enzo wanted to be part of this and then commanded Enzo to go inside.

I had to open a door, and even the background music felt confusing now; I wasn't entirely sure what Enzo was going through. Opening the door revealed a lot of people waiting on the other side, including Don Torrisi, who asked Enzo to step forward.

Cesare suggested Enzo to go ahead, and it looked like Don Torrisi was waiting for something special. He had a knife and a portrait on a desk.

Torrisi mentioned that all of the men in the room were bound by blood, adding that this was a family and they followed a code of honor, a way of life, a brotherhood.

Then Don Galante said that Enzo was here because of his deeds and the support of those standing by his side. Tino added that this life was one of secrecy, meaning if they made a friend or met a woman, they must never know about our business.

Don Torrisi said it was binding and not for giving, warning that to betray one was to betray all. Torrisi then asked Enzo if he wished to commit himself and his life to this family. Enzo said he did.

Torrisi asked him to join him before the eyes of everyone present. Since they were bound by blood, Enzo had to shed some blood, so Torrisi did the job by cutting a part of Enzo's lower lip.

He then put a drop of Enzo's blood on the portrait and told Enzo that to become a man of honor, Enzo had to repeat specific words while the portrait burned in his hands.

The words were: "I swear my loyalty to this family. My flesh must burn like this saint if I do not keep my oath." And yeah, the portrait belongs to a saint.

With the special words done, Enzo was officially one of them. Torrisi welcomed him, and everyone cheered with drinks. Enzo was finally a big man now, no longer just a vineyard worker.

To be continued.

Why did Luca say there was nothing to worry about right before sending him through a door? That sentence never calms anyone down, lol. But it seemed like everything happened smoothly there.

Buying a new outfit just to get rid of some saved up dinars is the most honest shopping reason there is, lol. Holding a burning portrait while reciting an oath looked like the world’s most serious birthday candle moment. Reminded me of the ritual of Assassin's Creed, the moment when a protagonist gets accepted as a Hidden One.
